Obama Covers Jesus at a Georgetown University Speech

I haven’t seen much written about Obama speech at a Jesuit institution called Georgetown University. I am very perturbed to hear reports that the president had the audacity to mock the Christian faith. Obama asked Georgetown to cover the monogram “IHS,” which symbolizes Jesus’ name and translate King of the Jews. The gold “IHS” monogram is a fixture behind the stage Obama would speak was covered by a piece of black plywood and remained covered until Obama left the campus. In fact, Obama is contemplating giving the same request when he will give a commencement speech at the University of Notre Dame.

Why is Obama scared of Jesus? Is it because the presidential messiah didn’t want to compete with the real messiah? Well, anything is possible. The last time Obama attended church before Easter was the Sunday before his inauguration. Since the primary campaign, Obama had no other choice but to turn his back to his racist friend Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the Trinity United Church of Christ. To this day, Obama has not named a church of his own, or he probably never will.

I question this president’s motives. Why did he have to literally cover the symbol of Jesus? Is it because he didn’t want to upset the Islamic faith that he holds dear? Is it because he didn’t want to cause an uproar among atheists? Is it because Obama dislikes the Catholic faith because they don’t recognize homosexuality? If you have the answer, please leave a comment on this blog. I am eagerly waiting to hear what you have to say.
