In 2009 a Government Worker Gets Paid More than in the Private Sector

It was once believed that a government worker gets paid "peanuts." But in 2009, when you combine salary, benefits, and pension a government worker can earned about $123,049. In comparison to workers in the private sector, the average worker made $61,051 in total compensation. It is not bad to be a government worker.
