In a recent new book by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, President Barack Obama said that this country could handle a potential 9/11 attack.
Quote:
"We can absorb a terrorist attack. We'll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever ... we absorbed it and we are stronger."Now, Michael Leiter, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, said that there is no guarantee that intelligence and law enforcement agencies could prevent every attempt by extremists to attack the United States. This is not what the American people want to hear. I have not once heard George W. Bush ever making an idiotic statement like that.
Leiter is a moron. He need to do his job or get out. If he cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. It troubles me when national security is being run by the Keystone cops. Leiter goes on to say, "We're not going to have a perfect batting average and its important that Americans understand that."
It is important to realize that the war on terror is not meant to be dealt at a police level. This is the reason why we take the fight abroad and not on US soil. This is why Bush is right and Obama is wrong. This type of crisis that must be dealt on a national level with the military because the FBI, CIA and the local police cannot do it alone. Talking about not going for a perfect batting average is not comforting to know.
This is an excuse to allow something big going to happen in this country. I guess the Obama Administration is saying, "every man, woman, and child out for themselves!"
