$1 Trillion Obamacare Tax Hike Hitting on Jan. 1

(American for Tax Reform) On January 1, regardless of the outcome of fiscal cliff negotiations, Americans will be hit with a $1 trillion Obamacare tax hike.

Obamacare contains twenty new or higher taxes. Five of the taxes hit for the first time on January 1. In total, Americans face a net $1 trillion tax hike for the years 2013-2022, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Here you go! Happy New Year!! Because you voted for that idiot, you will see an increase in your taxes on Jan 1! By the way, if you didn't know, Obamacare is a tax. You are welcome!

Sandy Victims Still Wait as Obama Decides on Relief

Washington enjoy tragedies. It gives them the opportunity to impose stupid legislation and wasteful pork spending. The Sandy Hook Elementary Massacre was a tragedy that was made political. There are hints that tough legislation will take away our right to bear arms. The government tried to do that during Columbine and the West Virginia Tech massacre. If only the government enforced the laws that currently exist, horrific events, like the Sandy Hook Massacre, would not occur.

As stated earlier, pork spending is an addiction in Washington. Hurricane Sandy is another example how Washington will capitalize on another tragedy. It has been over a month and the victims of the storm have no relief. It is because Washington hasn't decided how much pork to add to the relief bill. It is always the politicians priority to take care of special interest groups first before those who really need the money.

California Voters Want to Increase Their Taxes

The residence of California voted that they wanted to increase their taxes. That is asinine. As you can see, legalizing marijuana was not a good idea. It clouds your mind. Lesson learn.

(WSJ) SAN FRANCISCO—In approving a ballot measure sought by Gov. Jerry Brown to raise taxes for several years, Californians took a step toward improving the state's fiscal situation and avoiding education cuts.

According to the California Secretary of State's website, 53.9% of voters backed the measure, Proposition 30, while 46.1% voted against it, with all votes counted except for provisional and some mailed-in ballots.

The approval is a significant victory for Mr. Brown, a Democrat, who has staked his governorship on a campaign to raise taxes to ease the effects of the state's budget crunch.

"Last night, Californians made the courageous ..

Obama Wins & The DOW Tanks 300 Points The Next Day

Just like in 2008, the market reacted negatively when Obama won. Today, the market tanked 300 points the day after the election. Here we go again! Another 4 more years of bullshit recovery!

(CNBC)Investors cast their own vote on the presidential race Wednesday, and the result was a landslide rout that could have lasting repercussions beyond Tuesday's results.

The market plunge was on pace for the fifth-worst day-after-election drop since 1900. The worst, a 5 percent slide, came in 2008, after voters awarded Obama his first term in office, according to Bespoke Investment Group.

How far and how long the downward momentum will last is uncertain, but the early signs aren't good. Immediate post-election declines have historically preceded another 1.7 percent drop in the market by the end of the year.

Heading into 2013, Obama faces a historical trend that indicates the first year of a presidential cycle also is not usually positive for the market.

The average market gain for the post-election year is just 1.7 percent, with negative results 24 times against 20 positives.

"The stock market will suffer over the 12-month period, which always happens the year after an election," said Len Tannanbaum, CEO of Fifth Street Finance in New York.

Theories abounded on why the market tumbled. They ranged from worries over the "fiscal cliff" of tax increases and spending cuts, as well as troubles in Europe, a slowdown in the U.S. and questions over the efficiency and effects of Federal Reserve policy.

ITS CARTER VS REAGAN AGAIN. ROMNEY WILL WIN!!

For those who forgot our past, the media put Carter and Reagan in a virtual tie with Carter surging in the final weeks of election day. During that time, Carter gave us a horrid economy (stagflation), the Iranian Hostage ordeal, and rationing of gasoline. The outcome was an embarrassment for the media. It was a Reagan landslide victory. You can bet your bottom dollar that we will see the same thing on election day. The media will be stunned that Obama will lose by a landslide to Romney. As the saying goes, "History always repeats itself."

(FOXNEWS) I'm doubling down. Mitt Romney will win the presidency, and it won’t be close.

I’m predicting a 5 to 7 point popular vote victory. Electorally it won’t even be that close. Romney will win many states that went to Obama in 2008. I’m predicting Romney victories in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Indiana. I predict a Romney victory by 100 to 120 electoral votes.

There are several specific reasons I predict a comfortable Romney victory on election day:

The news media is ignoring signs of mass revulsion towards President Obama. In the West Virginia Democrat primary, a felon got 40% of the vote versus Obama. In deep blue Massachusetts and Connecticut, GOP Senate candidates are even, or leading in recent polls. In pro-union Wisconsin, Walker won by a country mile. But worst of all for Mr. Obama, several recent polls show Romney competitive in Illinois -- Obama’s home state. Romney is actually winning by a landslide in the suburbs of Obama’s Chicago. Even in Cook County, the country’s biggest Democratic stronghold, Romney leads by double digits among independents (43-31) and white voters (53-40). These are very bad signs for Obama.

After the 2010 census, electoral votes were added to states that lean Republican in elections: Texas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, South Carolina, and Utah. Deep blue Democrat states like New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Massachusetts lost electoral votes.

The “Enthusiasm Factor” for Romney is huge. Conservatives are focused, intense, motivated, and enthusiastic. Democrats turned out for Obama in record numbers in 2008. Today they are demoralized. A big edge goes to Romney on Election Day as conservatives, white voters, middle class voters and independents turn out in record numbers for Romney.

Finally, history proves that a majority of undecided voters break for the challenger. Romney will take most of the undecided voters on election day -- just like Reagan did versus Jimmy Carter in 1980. Romney’s fantastic debate performance gave them confidence to choose the challenger.

Vote for Revenge or Love of Country. Obama is a Thug

This shows how Obama is a petty thug. Our president uses fear and enjoys belittling his opponent because Obama can not run on his record. Obama's record in his 1st term is crap. Obama is a petulant fool who should never been our 44th president.

(WashingtonExaminer).....“Now, throughout this campaign President Obama has tried to convince you that these last four years have been a success,” Romney said.

“There it is — that’s it,” Stevens whispered.

“He wants to take all the things he did in his first term — the stimulus, the borrowing, ‘Obamacare,’ all the rest — and then try them all over again,” Romney said.

The crowd booed.

“But our big dreams will not be satisfied with the small agenda that’s already failed us,” Romney continued. “And today — did you see what President Obama said today? He asked his supporters to vote for revenge — for revenge.”

The audience seemed genuinely stunned, taking in its collective breath.

“Instead, I ask the American people to vote for love of country,” Romney said, drawing the longest and loudest applause of the night......

Unemployment Inches Up and Americans Still Broke

Unemployment inched up to 7.9%. No matter how the Obama Administration try to manipulate the jobs data, one thing is clear. The American income is steading in a decline. Americans are working less, and thus, getting paid less. This is not the hope and change I was looking for.

(Newsbusters) One of the negative features of the current economic recovery has been declining incomes of average Americans.

This trend continued in October.

The Labor Department reported Friday that despite 171,000 jobs being added to nonfarm payrolls in October, average hourly earnings for such employees edged down by 1 cent to $23.58.

Average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees also dropped by 1 cent to $19.79.

This continues a trend reported by the Census Bureau in August finding that since the recovery began in June 2009, median household incomes have fallen 4.8 percent adjusted for inflation.

Also of note, the manufacturing workweek edged down by 0.1 hour to 40.5 hours. The average workweek for production and nonsupervisory employees on private nonfarm payrolls also edged down by 0.1 hour to 33.6 hours.

As such, despite the positive headline numbers in this report, this is by no means a strong jobs market this far into an economic recovery.

Update: Reliable Model Put Romney as President

This reliable models from the University of Colorado is very accurate. It predicted the winner of each election since 1980. In fact, it got the election in 2000 correct with Gore winning the popular vote and Bush won the electoral college. Even though the other polls show it nearly a tie, majority of all the polls show Romney significantly improving. We are 10 days to the national elections. At this rate, Romney will be the eventual winner.

(NewAmerican) The forecast of the 2012 presidential election by Michael Berry and Kenneth Bicker, political science professors at the University of Colorado, that was released in August has been updated with more current economic information, and the result is the same: a Romney win as the economy continues to falter.

It takes 270 Electoral College votes to win the presidency, and Berry and Bicker are projecting that Governor Mitt Romney will win 330 of the 538 votes up for grabs in November, while President Obama will receive just 208, down from the 213 they predicted in August.

It’s the economy. The model developed by the two professors has an uncanny track record, correctly predicting each presidential election since 1980, often with startling accuracy. In their paper originally published in August by the American Political Science Association [APSA] along with 12 other studies, it differed in its predictive “model” by looking at two essential pieces of the economic puzzle: changes in real per capita income — that is, net, after-tax, spendable income — and unemployment rates. But their model doesn't just rely on the national numbers provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which has been heavily criticized recently for its inexplicable drop in the unemployment rate while real jobs in the economy aren't even reaching maintenance levels. It relies also on state-by-state analyses of those same factors, which appear to be more reliable. As the professors note:

In contrast to these other Electoral College models [published by the APSA], our model includes measures of change in real per capita income, as well as national and state unemployment figures.

Accounting for both changes in personal income and unemployment provides a more robust approximation of state economic well-being and, thus, serves to model the impact of retrospective evaluations of the incumbent party's stewardship of the economy…

The data incorporated in our model are regularly released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) in the US Department of Commerce and the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the US Department of Labor. This gives us high-quality, predictably available data to use as the feedstock for our model.

This is how politically correct political science professors cover themselves: just in case the national data get a little dicey, the numbers from the states are more predictive:

The heart of our forecast centers on the third set of independent variables. We use two basic measures of economic conditions: unemployment levels and change in real income per capita. Unemployment is measured in two capacities. First is the national unemployment rate. The second is the corresponding unemployment rate in each state…

Our third measure of economic well-being taps the extent to which people have more or less real disposable income at their discretion during the current incumbent's presidential term. The measure included in our model is the percentage change in each state in real per capita non-farm income from the fourth quarter of the prior presidential election year to the first quarter of the current election year.

The unstated but important underlying assumption by the professors is almost an iron law of politics: People will vote their pocketbooks. People are hurting, and that’s hurting Obama....

If Obama Cant Protect 4 Americans, He Cant Protect a Country

Hillary Clinton said that Obama would fail the 3AM phone call if he became president. Voters were warned and ignored Clintons plea. Now, we have 4 dead Americans because voters decided to elect an inexperienced politician. I blame those idiot voters who put a poser in the oval office. Critics are saying that there was a cover-up. If there was a cover-up, it was used to hide the inadequacies of an inexperience president. In reality, Obama is incompetent to serve as a commander-in-chief. If Obama is unable to protect 4 Americans, what makes you think he can protect a country?

(FoxNews) President Obama declined to answer directly whether a CIA annex was denied urgent requests for military assistance during the deadly attacks last month on U.S. outposts in Libya.

The president did not give a yes-or-no answer Friday when asked pointedly whether the Americans under attack in Benghazi, Libya, were denied requests for help during the attack.

Fox News has also learned that a request from the CIA annex for backup was later denied.

4 in 10 Americans Have $500 Or Less In Savings

In an economy brought on by Obama, are you surprise? More Americans are poorer under Obama. Obama is the welfare king and the food stamp king! The president leveled the playing field by making more white people as poor as the black people. Does America really want another 4 more years of Obama's stupidity?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A survey of about 1,100 Americans finds that more than 4-in-10 respondents admit they don’t have more than $500 in readily accessible savings.

The survey is a kind of departure for CreditDonkey.com, a website that compares credit card deals. Not respondents all were poor. Some had big houses, big mortgages or 401(k)s, but still no more than five Benjamins to rub together right now.

In addition to the emergency savings question, the survey found that 54% of respondents don’t have a savings plan in place, and 45% are afraid they’ll never be able to save.

The Choice is Clear...OBAMA NEEDS TO GO!

The difference is very clear. One is a pessimist and the other and optimist. One is a socialist and the other a capitalist. Obama must leave the presidency NOW!!!!

Welfare spending jumps 32% during Obama presidency

Obama is making everybody poorer in America. In order to control the voters, Obama needs to control them by making these suckers dependent on the government. This is not what our founding fathers wanted.

(WashingtonTimes)Federal welfare spending has grown by 32 percent over the past four years, fattened by President Obama’s stimulus spending and swelled by a growing number of Americans whose recession-depleted incomes now qualify them for public assistance, according to numbers released Thursday.

Federal spending on more than 80 low-income assistance programs reached $746 billion in 2011, and state spending on those programs brought the total to $1.03 trillion, according to figures from the Congressional Research Service and the Senate Budget Committee.

That makes welfare the single biggest chunk of federal spending — topping Social Security and basic defense spending.

There is NO Global Warming. It Ended 16 Years Ago

This is no global warming. It is a money making business that benefits the government and the United Nations. The proof is true because the media is not talking about it.

(Daily Mail) The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.

This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.

The new data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, was issued quietly on the internet, without any media fanfare, and, until today, it has not been reported.

Reliable Election Model, Romney WILL be President

This election model is very accurate and has predicted the past several decades. Even with their caveat, Romney will win in November! YAY!

(Colorado.Edu) An update to an election forecasting model announced by two University of Colorado professors in August continues to project that Mitt Romney will win the 2012 presidential election.

According to their updated analysis, Romney is projected to receive 330 of the total 538 Electoral College votes. President Barack Obama is expected to receive 208 votes -- down five votes from their initial prediction -- and short of the 270 needed to win.

The new forecast by political science professors Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder and Michael Berry of CU Denver is based on more recent economic data than their original Aug. 22 prediction. The model itself did not change.

While many election forecast models are based on the popular vote, the model developed by Bickers and Berry is based on the Electoral College and is the only one of its type to include more than one state-level measure of economic conditions. They included economic data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Of the 13 battleground states identified in the model, the only one to change in the update was New Mexico -- now seen as a narrow victory for Romney. The model foresees Romney carrying New Mexico, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Obama is predicted to win Michigan and Nevada.

The state-by-state economic data used in their model have been available since 1980. When these data were applied retroactively to each election year, the model correctly classifies all presidential election winners, including the two years when independent candidates ran strongly: 1980 and 1992. It also correctly estimates the outcome in 2000, when Al Gore won the popular vote but George W. Bush won the election through the Electoral College.

The authors also provided caveats. Their model had an average error rate of five states and 28 Electoral College votes. Factors they said may affect their prediction include the timeframe of the economic data used in the study and that states very close to a 50-50 split may fall in an unexpected direction due to factors not included in the model.

Unlike Unemployment Rate, Obama Cant Fake Gas Prices

Even though the unemployment rate gave us a bogus figure, there is no way the Obama Administration can manipulate the price of gas at the pumps. The price of gas remains extremely high as the president support funding a bankrupt green technology sector.

(CNBC) Retail gasoline prices, already at the highest levels on average since July 2008, are likely to continue to climb this month as refinery and pipeline problems overshadow weakness in U.S. consumer demand.

The national average for regular unleaded is now at $3.79 a gallon, basically on par with where pump prices were last Friday.

The cash market for gasoline — which sets the price for retail gasoline prices that consumers pay — in California soared $1.15 cents in 9 days to $4.24 a gallon on Thursday.

In other states, such as Mississippi, the statewide average is $3.52. Here in New York, gasoline averages at $4.13 per gallon. California tops the list with an average of $4.49 per gallon.

Historically weak demand is the main theme for gasoline prices at the end of the year. The final three months of the year are the lowest for gasoline demand and prices come off, says CNBC contributor and trader Anthony Grisanti of GRZ Energy. "But we could be paying the highest gasoline price for the fourth quarter than we've ever paid before."

Lets Not Forget that Obama is the Food Stamp President

Obama is making America poor and putting more people into welfare. Putting more people dependent on the government will guarantee the votes for the incumbent.

(Manhattan Institute) Three years after the end of the 2007–09 recession, which officially began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009, 47 million people each month are using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). At the beginning of the recession, fewer than one in 10 Americans received SNAP benefits. Nearly 15 percent of Americans now use SNAP benefits, formerly called food stamps, a program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This translates to more than one in 7 Americans currently using SNAP benefits, a record non-emergency high.[2]

There is much concern surrounding this unprecedented increase in America's SNAP program, which began in 2008. Food stamp participation has always increased during a recession and in the initial stages of a recovery. The purpose of this report is to determine whether the recent increase in SNAP participation is comparable to increases during other recent recessions. Our results demonstrate that levels seen since the end of this recession are far higher than in prior recoveries (see Figure 1). While the 36 month periods following the recessions of the early 1980s saw decreases in food stamp usage, the recessions of the early 1990s and in 2001 saw increases between 1 and 2 percent over the same period, in comparison with an increase of 3.5 percent following the recession ending in 2009. In addition to the difficult job market, this is because of changes in the program that began in October 2008, including expansion of benefits and elimination of the cap for child care expenses.

Debate, Obama Looked Pathetic. Romney Won!

If Obama had a great plan, the president would have used it 3 and 1/2 years ago. Keep in mind Obama failed with unemployment, failed in rising deficit, failed in foreign policy, and failed the American people.

(Washington Times) Bewildered and lost without his teleprompter, President Obama flailed all around the debate stage last night. He was stuttering, nervous and petulant. It was like he had been called in front of the principal after goofing around for four years and blowing off all his homework.

Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, that’s an insult to Jimmy Carter.

Household Income Worst Now Than in the Great Recession

This country is going down the toilet because we have an inexperience leader in the White House. The only thing Obama know is to blame the other guy. Instead of fixing the problem, the president stares into space and wonders when he can go out golfing. The problem we face today is Obama's fault. Obama promised hope and change. Well, we all hope that the American people can change that in November. Obama must go!

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A new report put out by the Pew Research Center finds that the median income is worse now than it was during the Great Recession.

According to Pew, the Census Bureau showed that the median income for American households in 2009 – the official end of the Great Recession – was $52,195 (in 2011 dollars), while the median income dipped to $50,054 last year, falling 4.1 percent over two years.

“The decrease in household income from 2009 to 2011 almost exactly equaled the decrease in income in the two years of the recession,” the Pew report stated. “During the Great Recession, the median U.S. household income (in 2011 dollars) dropped from $54,489 in 2007 to $52,195 in 2009, a loss of 4.2 percent. By this yardstick, the recovery from the Great Recession is bypassing the nation’s households.”

The poverty rate rose from 12.5 percent in 2007 to 15 percent last year as the median household wealth fell by 39 percent over a three-year span, from $131,016 in 2007 to $79,431 in 2010.

Obamacare Hits 6 Million People. Mostly Middle Class

Obamacare is a tax, which affects everybody. It will mostly affect the middle class. Thus, Obamacare will raise taxes, enforce the IRS to police who has health insurance or not, tax people making less than $250,000, and support death panels, which will wean out the old and the sick. In other words, Obama doesn't understand how this country works.

(AP) — Nearly 6 million Americans — significantly more than first estimated— will face a tax penalty under President Barack Obama's health overhaul for not getting insurance, congressional analysts said Wednesday. Most would be in the middle class.
The new estimate amounts to an inconvenient fact for the administration, a reminder of what critics see as broken promises.
The numbers from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office are 50 percent higher than a previous projection by the same office in 2010, shortly after the law passed. The earlier estimate found 4 million people would be affected in 2016, when the penalty is fully in effect.
That's still only a sliver of the population, given that more than 150 million people currently are covered by employer plans. Nonetheless, in his first campaign for the White House, Obama pledged not to raise taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 a year and couples making less than $250,000.
And the budget office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who'll face the penalty would be making up to or less than five times the federal poverty level. Currently that would work out to $55,850 or less for an individual and $115,250 or less for a family of four.
Average penalty: about $1,200 in 2016.

Under Obama Whites and Blacks are Even as Lower Class Group

Obama finally made more white people poorer in America. In fact, Obama balanced the white race and the black race evenly as a lower income group. Obama is destroying America. He is spreading the wealth all across the country. The only rich group is the government.

WASHINGTON (CBS WASHINGTON) – In the course of Obama’s presidency, people saying they are in the “lower classes” have risen from one-quarter to one-third of the adult population.

According to the Pew Research Center, Americans who say they are in the lower-middle or lower-class has risen from 25 percent to 32 percent in the past four years, in the national survey of 2,508 adults.

Not only has the lower class grown, but its demographic profile also has shifted. People younger than 30 are disproportionately swelling the ranks of the self-defined lower classes. The shares of Hispanics and whites who place themselves in the lower class also are growing.

Among blacks, the story is different.

The share of blacks in the lower class has not changed in four years, one of the few demographic groups in which the proportion in the lower classes did not grow. As a consequence, a virtually identical share of blacks (33%) and whites (31%) now say they are in the lower class.

Obama Refuse to Explain how he will Cut Spending

Obama created a law that will explain how he will cut spending. Now, he is backing out. Obama has no intentions of cutting taxes. Rather, he would cripple the nation by defunding the military and businesses. Election time is right around the corner. Vote the bum out of office!

(THE HILL) The White House on Friday said it will miss the legal deadline for delivering a report to Congress on the spending cuts from sequestration that are scheduled to take effect in 2013.

Under the terms of the Sequestration Transparency Act signed in August, President Obama was to tell Congress by Friday how the administration plans to implement the $109 billion in automatic cuts mandated by the Budget Control Act.

The Office of Management and Budget has repeatedly failed to make legal deadlines. It delivered its presidential budget proposals and mid-session updates late both this year and last year.

Republicans have tried to tie the tardiness to the failure of the Senate to pass a budget resolution for the last three years.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Obama needs to come clean about his plans to carry out the spending cuts.

Democrat are Idiots Saying Obama Created 4.5 Million Jobs

It is called fuzzy math. Obama and his idiot followers learned well to cherry pick their data. 4.5 million??? LOL

(CNN) Anyone watching the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night heard the number 4.5 million several times. "Despite incredible odds and united Republican opposition, our president took action, and now we've seen 4.5 million new jobs," San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, the party's keynote speaker, said. The number Castro cites is an accurate description of the growth of private-sector jobs since January 2010, when the long, steep slide in employment finally hit bottom. But while a total of 4.5 million jobs sounds great, it's not the whole picture. While that is indeed a gain of 4.5 million, it's only a net gain of 300,000 over the course of the Obama administration to date. There's been a net loss of nearly 1 million public-sector jobs since Obama took office, despite a surge in temporary hiring for the 2010 census. The figure of 4.5 million jobs is accurate if you look at the most favorable period and category for the administration. But overall, there are still fewer people working now than when Obama took office at the height of the recession.

Majority of Obama Twitter Friends are Fake

Seems the president has a hard time to find real people to follow his Twitter page. So, he make up fake people. I can understand how Obama associates fake because he is one himself.
(USATODAY) President Obama's Twitter account has 18.8 million followers -- but more than half of them really don't exist, according to reports.

A new Web tool has determined that 70% of Obama's crowd includes "fake followers," The New York Times reports in a story about how Twitter followers can be purchased.

Under Obama Every Group of Americans Have Less Income

Liberal will never understand that their decision to put this man in office is destroying our way of life. Obama has destroyed the American dream. He as made this country poorer. He has reintroduce racism back into the mainstream. He has increase our debt than any president in history. He has put more Americans into poverty. He is the food stamp president. Obama must go now!

(Bloomberg) American incomes declined more in the three-year expansion that started in June 2009 than during the longest recession since the Great Depression, according an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data by Sentier Research LLC.

Median household income fell 4.8 percent on an inflation- adjusted basis since the recession ended in June 2009, more than the 2.6 percent drop during the 18-month contraction, the research firm’s Gordon Green and John Coder wrote in a report today. Household income is 7.2 percent below the December 2007 level, the former Census Bureau economic statisticians wrote.

“Almost every group is worse off than it was three years ago, and some groups had very large declines in income,” Green, who previously directed work on the Census Bureau’s income and poverty statistics program, said in a phone interview today. “We’re in an unprecedented period of economic stagnation.”

Liberals Claim Obama Created More Jobs than Reagan

Cutter: Obama Has Created More Jobs Than the Reagan Recovery

Willie Geist, MSNBC: What would you say to that same person that said, 'Well, that hasn't worked for four years. I haven't had the job over time, it's time for a change.'

Stephanie Cutter, Obama deputy campaign manager: Well, I think that worker probably has a good understanding of what's happened over the past four years in terms of the president coming in and seeing 800,000 jobs lost on the day that the president was being sworn in, and seeing the president moving pretty quickly to stem the losses, to turn the economy around, and over the past, you know, 27 months we've created 4.5 million private sector jobs. That's more jobs than in the Bush recovery, in the Reagan recovery, there's obviously more we need to do, and as I said to Mika at the at beginning of the program, I think that unemployed worker probably sees one person in this race trying to move the country forward and that's the president.

If that is true, why was unemployment low with Reagan and Bush and Obama remains high? If Obama created more jobs, why are there more people on welfare, food stamps, and more people living in poverty? If Obama was doing a good job, why hasn't he gotten us out of a recession? Reagan took us out of a Carter stagflation. Bush took us out from Clinton's recession.

Obama Cant Pack a Full House Anymore. He is Done!

Obama is in deep trouble. The president is spending more on his campaign than what his campaign collects. Well, that is no different how he is spending on the economy. Without warm bodies to fill the seats, it would be a total embarrassment for the president. This is a reality check for Obama. He will be a one-term president.

Obama is Worried Romney Has a Bigger Crowd

Obama better worry. No matter what the media spins it, Obama is going down in November. LOL

(WashingtonExaminer)

The recent frantic email theme to supporters from Team Obama about Mitt Romney's run-away fundraising successes has been expanded to the crowd size gap between the thousands who rushed out over the weekend to see Romney and new running mate Rep. Paul Ryan and the hundreds who cheered on President Obama.

The big worry expressed in a new email from Obama's Chicago HQ: "The Republican base is energized." The reason: Romney attracted 15,000 at a rally over the weekend.

The email:

Paul --

I just got this disturbing report: Yesterday's Romney-Ryan rally in North Carolina pulled in an overflow crowd of 15,000 people.

There's no spinning that number. It's a LOT of people, and the Republican base in energized.

And that's not all. Since the VP announcement, Romney's campaign has brought in over 70,000 donations from his Tea Party base.

We've got to step up our game and mobilize our supporters -- starting right now.

Donate $3 or right now to help us rally our base around President Obama's agenda >>

Listen to what one Republican supporter said about Paul Ryan: "I love him...He's going to excite the Tea Party and get them on board..."

We can't let the Republicans claim the momentum. Donate $3 or whatever you can:

Ryan Will Excite the Tea Party, Blue Dogs, & Conservatives

This is why Romney picked Ryan. Ryan will excite the conservative grassroots, the Tea Party, and the Blue Dog Democrats, who are pissed at Obama. Ryan will destroy Biden in the debates when it comes to fiscal responsibility and Obamacare.

"I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits -- either now or in the future."
(Remarks by President Obama to a Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009)

This afternoon Budget Committee Ranking Member Ryan walked through why the bill put forward by Democrats FAILS the President's deficit test.
--

The Majority Leader said the bill scores as reducing deficit by $131 billion over the next 10 years.

First a little bit about CBO: I work with them every single day; very good people; great professionals. They do their jobs well. But their job is to score what is placed in front of them. And what has been placed in front of them is a bill that is fill of gimmicks and smoke and mirrors.

Now what do I mean when I say that?

First off, the bill has ten years of tax increases and ten years of Medicare cuts to pay for six years of spending. The true ten year cost when subsidies kick-in? $2.3 trillion.

The bill is full of gimmicks that more than erase the false claim of deficit reduction:

- $52 billion of savings is claimed by counting increased Social Security payroll revenues. These dollars are already claimed for future Social Security beneficiaries, and claiming to offset the cost of this bill either means were double-counting or were not going to pay Social Security benefits.

- $72 billion in savings is claimed from the CLASS Act long-term care insurance. These so-called savings are not offsets, but rather premiums collected to pay for future benefits. Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad has called these savings, A ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud.

Additionally, the nearly half-trillion dollars in Medicare cuts cannot be counted twice. Medicare is in dire need of reform in order to make certain that we can ensure health security for future seniors.

Using Medicare as a piggy bank, it raids a half trillion dollars from retirees health coverage to fund the creation of another open-ended health care entitlement.

The Presidents chief Medicare actuary says up to 20% of Medicare providers may go bankrupt or stop taking Medicare beneficiaries as a result. Millions of seniors who have chosen Medicare Advantage will lose the coverage they now enjoy.

Objections to the policy aside, you cannot use these savings twice to both extend the life of Medicare and to pay for other spending. The half-trillion dollars in Medicare cuts are either to extend the programs solvency or to reduce the cost of this deficit but not both as its authors claim.

When you strip away the double-counting of Medicare cuts, the so-called savings from Social Security payroll taxes and the CLASS Act, the deficit increases by $460 billion over first ten years and $1.4 trillion over second ten years.

Finally, one of the most expensive and most cynical of the gimmicks applies to Medicare physician payments, the so-called Doc Fix.

By your own estimate, the Doc Fix adds an additional $371 billion to the cost of health care reform. With the price tag beyond what most Americans could handle, the Majority decided to simply remove this costly provision and deal with it in a stand-alone bill.

Ignoring this additional cost does not remove it from the backs of taxpayers. Hiding spending doesnt reduce spending.

HIGH GAS PRICES, WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU

In Orlando, Florida, I have seen prices drop to as low as $3.07/gallon. It is now up $3.33/gallon. I haven't seen people upset over this. Gas prices will never go down with this president in office. I am still adamant that we need to drill for our own oil and be less dependent on foreign sources. It will be a talking point in the presidential debates.

(WSJ) If it seems like the price of gasoline is rising quickly and at an odd time of year, that is because it is true. The average price of a gallon of regular gas in the U.S. rose 5.1% or 17 cents to $3.50 per gallon today according to auto and travel group AAA.

“Drivers nationwide saw prices reverse in July after three months of steady declines at the pump,” said AAA spokesperson Avery Ash. “Higher global oil prices and increased demand for gasoline during the busy summer driving season were the primary factors that sent pump prices higher in July.”

National average gas prices rose for 26 days in July after hitting a low for the summer of about $3.33 a gallon on July 2.

Obama has Put More than 100 Million Americans into Poverty

You can blame Obama for creating most of this mess. Obama policy is creating this great country into a third world country.

(Infowars) The following are 40 facts about poverty in America that will blow your mind….

#1 In the United States today, somewhere around 100 million Americans are considered to be either “poor” or “near poor”.

#2 It is being projected that when the final numbers come out later this year that the U.S. poverty rate will be the highest that it has been in almost 50 years.

#3 Approximately 57 percent of all children in the United States are living in homes that are either considered to be either “low income” or impoverished.

#4 Today, one out of every four workers in the United States brings home wages that are at or below the poverty level.

#5 According to the Wall Street Journal, 49.1 percent of all Americans live in a home where at least one person receives financial benefits from the government. Back in 1983, that number was below 30 percent.

#6 It is projected that about half of all American adults will spend at least some time living below the poverty line before they turn 65.

#7 Today, there are approximately 20.2 million Americans that spend more than half of their incomes on housing. That represents a 46 percent increase from 2001.

#8 During 2010, 2.6 million more Americans fell into poverty. That was the largest increase that we have seen since the U.S. government began keeping statistics on this back in 1959.

#9 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of “very poor” rose in 300 out of the 360 largest metropolitan areas during 2010.

#10 Since Barack Obama became president, the number of Americans living in poverty has risen by 6 million and the number of Americans on food stamps has risen by 14 million.

#11 Right now, one out of every seven Americans is on food stamps and one out of every four American children is on food stamps.

#12 It is projected that half of all American children will be on food stamps at least once before they turn 18 years of age.

#13 The poverty rate for children living in the United States is 22 percent, although when the new numbers are released in the fall that number is expected to go even higher.

#14 One university study estimates that child poverty costs the U.S. economy 500 billion dollars a year.

#15 Households that are led by a single mother have a 31.6% poverty rate.

#16 In 2010, 42 percent of all single mothers in the United States were on food stamps.

#17 According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 36.4 percent of all children that live in Philadelphia are living in poverty, 40.1 percent of all children that live in Atlanta are living in poverty, 52.6 percent of all children that live in Cleveland are living in poverty and 53.6 percent of all children that live in Detroit are living in poverty.

#18 Since 2007, the number of children living in poverty in the state of California has increased by 30 percent.

#19 Child homelessness in the United States has risen by 33 percent since 2007.

#20 There are 314 counties in the United States where at least 30% of the children are facing food insecurity.

#21 More than 20 million U.S. children rely on school meal programs to keep from going hungry.

#22 A higher percentage of Americans is living in extreme poverty (6.7 percent) than has ever been measured before.

#23 If you can believe it, 37 percent of all U.S. households that are led by someone under the age of 35 have a net worth of zero or less than zero.

#24 A lot of younger Americans have found that they cannot make it on their own in this economy. Today, approximately25 million American adults are living with their parents.

#25 Today, one out of every six elderly Americans lives below the federal poverty line.

#26 Amazingly, the wealthiest 1 percent of all Americans own more wealth than the bottom 95 percent combined.

#27 The six heirs of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton have a net worth that is roughly equal to the bottom 30 percent of all Americans combined.

#28 At this point, the poorest 50% of all Americans now control just 2.5% of all of the wealth in this country.

#29 Back in 1980, less than 30% of all jobs in the United States were low income jobs. Today, more than 40% of all jobs in the United States are low income jobs.

#30 Right now, the United States actually has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.

#31 Half of all American workers earn $505 or less per week.

#32 In 1970, 65 percent of all Americans lived in “middle class neighborhoods”. By 2007, only 44 percent of all Americans lived in “middle class neighborhoods”.

#33 Federal housing assistance outlays increased by a whopping 42 percent between 2006 and 2010.

#34 Approximately 50 million Americans do not have any health insurance at all right now.

#35 Back in 1965, only one out of every 50 Americans was on Medicaid. Today, approximately one out of every 6Americans is on Medicaid.
#36 It is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.

#37 Back in 1990, the federal government accounted for 32 percent of all health care spending in America. Today, that figure is up to 45 percent and it is projected to surpass 50 percent very shortly.

#38 Overall, the amount of money that the federal government gives directly to the American people has risen by 32 percent since Barack Obama entered the White House.

#39 It was recently reported that 1.5 million American families live on less than two dollars a day (before counting government benefits).

#40 The unemployment rate in the U.S. has been above 8 percent for 40 months in a row, and 42 percent of all unemployed Americans have been out of work for at least half a year.

Obama WILL Bring Poverty Rate to Highest Peak Since 1960s

Obama is truly the food stamp president. Poverty in America is growing at an accelerate pace because Obama sucks as president. Where are the jobs, mr. president?

YAHOO(AP) — The ranks of America's poor are on track to climb to levels unseen in nearly half a century, erasing gains from the war on poverty in the 1960s amid a weak economy and fraying government safety net.

Census figures for 2011 will be released this fall in the critical weeks ahead of the November elections.

The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen economists, think tanks and academics, both nonpartisan and those with known liberal or conservative leanings, and found a broad consensus: The official poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010, climbing as high as 15.7 percent. Several predicted a more modest gain, but even a 0.1 percentage point increase would put poverty at the highest level since 1965.

Poverty is spreading at record levels across many groups, from underemployed workers and suburban families to the poorest poor. More discouraged workers are giving up on the job market, leaving them vulnerable as unemployment aid begins to run out. Suburbs are seeing increases in poverty, including in such political battlegrounds as Colorado, Florida and Nevada, where voters are coping with a new norm of living hand to mouth.

If More People Carried Guns, Aurora Massacre Wouldnt Happen

Disarming innocent people will not protect innocent people. DUH!In regards to the Aurora massacre, if someone in the theater had a concealed gun licence and had a loaded gun in tote, it wouldn't make the headline news. It is impossible to take away guns away from the public. While the bad guys can get guns illegally to be used against us, the government turns a blind eye to the American public.

(The Blaze) Samuel Williams could soon become a poster child for concealed carry. Or rather a poster senior citizen.

Williams is being hailed as a hero this week after he sprung into action on Friday to thwart an armed robbery at an internet cafe. Williams was present when two masked thugs walked into the Palms Internet Cafe in Marion County, Florida. One of the men was brandishing a gun while the other had a bat. They started ordering patrons around and one smashes a computer screen. That’s when Williams took action.

Both of the crooks suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were later captured. And according to police, Williams — a licensed concealed carry gun owner — won’t face any repercussions.

Aurora's Strict Gun Laws Didn't Prevent Shooting,

This all could have been prevented if someone in the movie theater has a concealed gun license and was packing some heat.

(CNS NEWS) Purdue student and Young America's Foundation Intern Scholar Hillary Cherry provides her thoughts on the Colorado shooting, stressing the importance of protecting our Second Amendment rights:

A masked gunman opened fire yesterday on one of the 3,700 midnight showings of The Dark Knight Rises, leaving 12 dead, 50 injured, and one in custody. Liberals everywhere are wasting no time to use this massacre in an effort to push gun control and gut the Second Amendment.

Mayor Bloomberg asks the Obama administration for stricter gun laws following Colorado shooting. Comedian DL Hughley tweeted, "Aurora is 13yrs and 13 miles from Columbine! Since the 60s over 500,000 ppl have bn killed by guns in the US we have no right 2 b shocked!"

How will stricter gun laws bring an end to criminals having guns, when the laws against murder have not been able to stop them from killing innocent people?

Currently in Aurora, Colorado, where the shooting took place, it is already unlawful to carry a concealed "dangerous weapon," discharge firearms, unless by law enforcement on duty or on shooting range, and have loaded firearm in motor vehicle.

Yet these laws were unable to stop James Holmes.

Obamas High Unemployment Caused the Colorado Massacre

Let's use the stupidity of Liberals. Because Holmes could not find a job, he end up deranged and went off into a killing spree. In other words, the guy snapped. It is Obama's fault that this man does not have a job. This goes in line that Liberals want stronger gun control and the massacre can be linked to the Tea Party. This whole incident could have been stopped if a law abiding citizen was also packing a gun.

(LA TIMES) The alleged gunman in the deadly "Dark Knight" movie theater shooting had trouble finding work before he returned to school to study neuroscience in Colorado, a San Diego neighbor said Friday.

James Holmes, 24, who graduated from Westview High School in San Diego in 2006, could not find work after graduating from UC Riverside in 2010 with a bachelor's in neuroscience, said Tom Mai, a retired electrical engineer who lives in the Rancho Penasquitos neighborhood where Holmes grew up.

Holmes, who was arrested after the shooting Friday in suburban Denver, was described by law enforcement sources as a loner. He was a student at the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus, but the school said he was in the process of withdrawing from the graduate program in neuroscience.

Job Gain in All States that Elected a GOP GOV in 2010

The most important idea to take away from this article is that the voters were 100% right getting rid of Democrat governors and elect Republican governors. The voters premise was validated when jobs creation and prosperity flourished. Thus, the voters will take the same idea in November when they make Obama a one term president.

Since January of 2011, here is how much the unemployment rate declined in each of the 17 states that elected Republican governors in 2010, according to the Examiner:
Kansas - 6.9% to 6.1% = a decline of 0.8%
Maine - 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of 0.6%
Michigan - 10.9% to 8.5% = a decline of 2.4%
New Mexico - 7.7% to 6.7% = a decline of 1.0%
Oklahoma - 6.2% to 4.8% = a decline of 1.4%
Pennsylvania - 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of 0.6%
Tennessee - 9.5% to 7.9% = a decline of 1.6%
Wisconsin - 7.7% to 6.8% = a decline of 0.9%
Wyoming - 6.3% to 5.2% = a decline of 1.1%
Alabama - 9.3% to 7.4% = a decline of 1.9%
Georgia - 10.1% to 8.9% = a decline of 1.2%
South Carolina - 10.6% to 9.1% = a decline of 1.5%
South Dakota - 5.0% to 4.3% = a decline of 0.7%
Florida - 10.9% to 8.6% = a decline of 2.3%
Nevada - 13.8% to 11.6% = a decline of 2.2%
Iowa - 6.1% to 5.1% = a decline of 1.0%
Ohio - 9.0% to 7.3% = a decline of 1.7%

MY 2000th BLOG. Another Milestone. Thank You All

I want to thank everybody for supporting my website. It is comforting to know that there are readers with good taste. LOL. On Thursday, July 5, 2012, it took me less than a year to post 1000 blogs. Since 2007, I have posted a total of 2000 blogs. This is the Year of the Conservatives, and we will take back the White House in November!

Romney Looking for a Female Running Mate...PALIN?

Put Palin on the ticket and watch the Liberals run in all different directions. By letting the MSM attack on Palin or another female equivelent, Romney can attack Obama's record. I would say it is a perfect plan.

(CBS)WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney’s wife says her husband is thinking about picking a woman to be on his ticket this fall.

Ann Romney says in an interview, “We’ve been looking at that and I love that option as well.”

She tells CBS News she thinks the person selected for the No. 2 spot should be “someone that obviously can do the job but will be able to carry through with some of the other responsibilities.”

The former Massachusetts governor, who was joined by his wife for the interview, declined to describe the status of the vice presidential search, saying “that’s something I’m keeping close with my team.

Minority leader: Odds long to undo health care law

I have predicted that this will happen. Neither the GOP or the Democrats will lift a finger to repeal Obamacare. Once a law is in place, it is extremely difficult to remove. It is likely that Congress will stop funding the program. However, this will only give the opportunity for the next Democrat to come in and screw it up. We have to wait and see what Romney will do if he become the next president. If the GOP gain the majority of both chambers of the House, we will see if they have the guts to repeal it. Only time will tell.

(AP) ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky.-- It's on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against repealing the health care law championed by President Barack Obama.

The Kentucky Republican said Monday it's hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the 2,700-page health care law, WHAS-TV (http://bit.ly/LSUtqX ) reports.

"If you thought it was a good idea for the federal government to go in this direction, I'd say the odds are still on your side," McConnell said. "Because it's a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it in the first place."

Obama Lied on TAX Increase for Those Making $250k and LESS

OBAMA IS BLATANT WITH HIS LIES. OBAMACARE IS ONE HUGE TAX AND BURDEN ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. OBAMA USED THE GIMMICK OF HEALTHCARE FOR ALL AS A RUSE TO TAX THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR HIS PONZI SCHEME. In the words of George W. Bush, "Miss me yet?"

Sept. 12, 2008: Speaking in Dover, New Hampshire candidate Obama said: “I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Feb. 24, 2009: In an address to a joint session of Congress President Obama restated the promise in forceful terms: “If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime.”

OBAMACARE WILL AFFECT THOSE MAKING LESS THAN $120K A YEAR

Stephen Moore, Senior Economics Writer with the Wall Street Journal, told FOX and Friends this morning that nearly 75% of Obamacare costs will fall on the backs of those Americans making less than $120,000 a year. Whatever happen to Obama's promise that no one making $250K per year will get tax. Obama is full of crap

SCOTUS DECLARES OBAMACARE Is A Legit TAX

Even though the majority of Supreme Court justices declares the individual mandate as unconstitutional, Chief Justice Roberts join with the liberal justices to accept that Obamacare is a tax. If you look at it that way, the government spends 18% of the GDP on healthcare. In contrast, we spend 4.8% of the GDP on the military. It is now a reality to see what other countries experience under socialize medicine. Prepare yourselves for rationed healthcare, death panels, a weakened economy, and destruction of a perfectly good healthcare system.

(Rush Limbaugh) RUSH: Hey, folks, have you seen the economic news today? Have you heard about the unemployment numbers today? (laughing) Gross domestic product, have you heard about any of that? Because I have it here, and it sucks. It's a disaster. The economy of this country remains a disaster. And we, the American people, have just been deceived in ways that nobody contemplated. And what we now have is the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. What we have been told by the chief justice of the Supreme Court and four liberals on the court: Obamacare is just a massive tax increase. That's all it is. Obama lied to us about that. The Democrats lied. "It wasn't a tax. There was no way it was a tax."

The chief justice was hell-bent to find a way to make this law applicable, so he just decided, you know what, as a tax increase, it works, because there's no limit on the federal government's ability to tax. And it's right there in the preamble of the Constitution, right there, Article 1, Section 8, the general welfare clause, it's been established Congress can tax whatever, whoever, whenever, how much they want. Even when they don't ask for it, the Supreme Court is gonna find a way to make what they want to do legal because John Roberts said it's not our job here to forbid this. It's not our job to protect people from outcomes. It's not our job to determine whether it is right or wrong or any of that. We just get to look at it. We can't forbid this. This is what the elected representatives of the people want.

No, the elected representatives of the people were deceived. Remember yesterday I asked you, if this decision went this way, what was your initial reaction going to be. And how many of you were deflated as you can be because of the way this was reported? The first thing that came down, the mandate, unconstitutional, that was the first thing everybody reported. Mandate unconstitutional, big sigh of relief. And then within moments, wait a minute, wait a minute, we're reading further. Hold it just a second. The mandate's unconstitutional, but the court has decided it's a tax, and therefore it's okay.

So Obamacare is nothing more than the largest tax increase in the history of the world.

Obama Says Obamacare is Not a Tax- LIAR!!!!

ABC News George Stephanopoulos' 2009 interview with President Obama refusing to accept the argument that a mandate to buy health insurance is equivalent to a tax. The US Supreme Court deemed that the individual mandate or Obamacare is constitutional because it allows Congress to raise taxes on the American people. Thus, Obamacare was debated as a tax and was considered within the right of the Congress to levy it.

Ron Paul Introduces Audit the Fed Bill to the House

IT IS ABOUT TIME!!!

(Washington Times) The House oversight committee voted Wednesday to demand a broad audit of the Federal Reserve system by congressional investigators - a major move lawmakers said is designed to bring accountability to the murky workings of the independent board.

The bill was sponsored by Rep. Ron Paul, the Texas Republican who turned the push for an audit into a powerful campaign slogan and whose criticism of the Fed’s monetary policy drew hundreds of thousands of voters into the political process.

It passed by voice vote, signaling the growing sense among lawmakers that the time has come for a full review. Committee members said they hope for a vote in the full House next month, and the legislation has been sponsored by 263 members, virtually assuring its passage.

Federal law right now specifically prohibits such a broad audit, and opponents fear undermining the independence of the Federal Reserve.

If the bill clears the House it will still need a vote in the Senate - but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, has spoken approvingly of an audit in the past.

Stockton Filing Bankruptcy is the Largest US City to Fail

Stockton has become the cities largest in the U.S. to seek bankruptcy protection. And it seems, the city doesn't know who is to blame. Well, let me shed some light. Overspending, unions, and illegal aliens are sucking the city dry. Wasteful programs and corruption has taken a very prominent city into the ghetto. In other words, George Bush is to blame. LOL.

(LATimes) STOCKTON — This Gold Rush-era port city, an epicenter of California's agricultural exports, will become the nation's largest city to seek protection under the U.S. bankruptcy code after its City Council on Tuesday stopped bond payments, slashed employee health and retirement benefits and adopted a day-to-day survival budget.

City Manager Bob Deis likened the process to cutting off an arm to save the body. He is expected to file bankruptcy papers immediately.

Most knew what the night held; bankruptcy has been a long time coming. Stockton has been in negotiations with its creditors since late March under AB 506, a new California law requiring mediation before a municipality can file for reorganization of debt. It was the first use of the law, and policy analysts who watched its torturous and tedious progress have titled their report on it "Death by a Thousand Meetings." Mediations ended Monday at midnight.

How Stockton found itself so mired in debt can be seen everywhere in the city's core. There is a sparkling marina, high-rise hotel and promenade financed by credit in the mid-2000s, mere blocks from where mothers won't let their children play in the yard because of violence.

The city made $90 million in drastic cuts from the general fund in the last three years, including reducing the police department by 25%, the fire department by 30%, and cutting pay and benefits to all employees. There is a state investigation into whether Stockton's financial devastation was entirely due to shortsighted optimism or if there was corruption. The state mediation law requires assigning blame.

MSM Happy about the 2000th Death in Iraq, but not in Afghanistan

HYPOCRISY! IT DOESN'T MATTER. OBAMA IS A ONE TERM PRESIDENT AND THE MEDIA WILL LOSE MORE VIEWERS!

(NewsBusters) On June 13, the CBS Evening News devoted a story by David Martin to the Afghanistan death count reaching 2,000, as Martin interviewed a mother of a fallen Marine. CBS was alone. There was no story last week on the Afghanistan death “milestone” on ABC, NBC, the PBS NewsHour – or even on the MSNBC programs found in Nexis, including Rachel “Our Military’s In a Perilous Drift” Maddow.

But the networks were all more aggressive when the 2,000 mark arrived in Iraq on October 25, 2005. The Big Three networks devoted 14 morning and evening news stories to the death toll from October 24 through the end of October, and another 24 anchor briefs or mentions. They used the number to spell “disaster for this White House.”
