Stock Market Like Gridlock in Washington

The article is hoping for a gridlock in Washington, D.C. The Market like to see an Obama presidency and a Republican Congress. As long the GOP can stop Obama's lunacy, the market will slowly improve. From 2006-2010, America has seen the consequence of a Democrat Majority, and that was ugly. There hasn't been a good Democrat president in a long time. We have seen a Democrat president and a Republican Congress in the 1990's, and the market did very well. It would be nice to prove to America that a Republican Tri-Fecta would put the economy back on track and put exceptionalism back in America.

(CNBC) While President Obama may not be Wall Street's ideal candidate, stock prices are rising on growing expectations he will be re-elected this November.

Part of that, market pros say, is simply that investors feel more certain about who will be in the White House for the next four years and which policies they will have to deal with.

Obama's chances of winning in November increased to above 60 percent on Tuesday, up from about 50 percent at the beginning of the year, according to the odds on prediction market Intrade.com.

History shows the market tends to rise during election years. Gains tend to be even greater if the incumbent party wins.

Intrade puts the Republicans’ chances of controlling the Senate and House after the November elections at 72 percent and 64 percent respectively.

That brings up another Wall Street maxim: “Market likes gridlock.” This way, a single party can’t mess it up.

Obama Helps Santorum in Michigan While Bashing Romney

Obama take down Romney in Michigan. I think Obama wants to take on Santorum in November. Obama feels he has a shot to win re-election against Santorum than Romney. Obama is a fool.

(Politico) President Barack Obama has been digging at Mitt Romney's opposition to the auto bailout for months, but as he spoke to auto workers on Tuesday -- and as Michigan votes in its presidential primary -- he attacked the former Massachusetts governors more forcefully on the issue than ever before.

That line, "you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye"? It comes right from the first paragraph of Romney's oft-cited 2008 New York Times op-ed, in which he urged the federal government not to bail out the struggling automakers.

Santorum Has the Momentum in Michigan GOP Primary

If Romney loses Michigan today, his credibility to represent as the GOP nominee will be difficult. Thus, Romney would have a tough election in November.

(Fox Detroit) LANSING, Mich. - Mitt Romney is neck-and-neck with-Rick Santorum in Michigan but has pulled far ahead in Arizona on the eve of key primary contests in both states, according to new polls.

The Public Policy Polling (PPP) final survey of likely Michigan primary voters, conducted Sunday and Monday, found Santorum edging Romney by a margin of 38 percent to 37 percent -- a difference within the poll's margin of error.

The poll, however, did find momentum swinging toward Santorum in the final hours before the Michigan contest, with the former Pennsylvania senator holding a 39 percent to 34 percent advantage among those polled on Monday, the second day of polling.

Cops: Dad hit son for not watching Obama Speech

Stupid liberal. The father deserves to be waterboarded for doing an idiotic act.

(Stamfordadvocate) STAMFORD -- A North Stamford father trying to make his pre-teenaged son listen to President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech last month was arrested on a warrant Wednesday and accused of striking his son with a coffee mug when the youth would not pay attention.

Mohamed Shohan, 49, of 55 Mather Road, Stamford, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child. He was released after posting $5,000 bond and will be arraigned on the charges at state Superior Court in Stamford Thursday.

When the boy kept acting out, the father lost his temper and grabbed a coffee mug his son was holding and hit him in the face with it, causing a bruise to the bridge of his nose, it is alleged.
When interviewed, Shohan could not explain how his son was injured, police said. Police then obtained an arrest warrant for Shohan.

Obama Sadden Burning of Koran but Support Burning the Bible

Obama believes burning the Koran is wrong, but burning the Bible is okay. We have catered to the Muslim community and we have tolerate with their "religion" for far too long. I am sick and tired to see our Bible being ignored. We are catering and being sympathetic to a religion of contradictions. Obama does not care of the Christian religion. Our president supports burning the Christian Bible and mandate forced abortion/contraception for everybody. (Military burns unsolicited Bibles sent to Afghanistan)

(Yahoo) US President Barack Obama sent Afghan President Hamid Karzai a letter of apology over the burning of copies of the Koran overseen by a US officer at a US military base, Karzai's office said Thursday.

Obama said the incident was unintentional and pledged a full investigation, the president's office said, as fierce anti-US protests swept the nation in which at least 14 people have died, including two American soldiers.

"I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident," Obama wrote in the letter presented to Karzai by US ambassador Ryan Crocker. "I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies."

"The error was inadvertent; I assure you that we will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible," the letter said.

Karzai told members of parliament that a US officer was responsible for the burning that was done "out of ignorance", his office said.

The incident at the US military base at Bagram north of Kabul sparked three days of fierce anti-US protests in which at least 12 protesters were killed.

Two American soldiers also died when an Afghan army colleague turned his weapon on them as demonstrators approached a US base in eastern Nangarhar province Thursday, the military and officials said.

Obama Looking for New Slogan to Replace Hope and Change

The new slogan should be "We Surrender". What say you?

(Reuters) WASHINGTON, Feb 18 - Winning The Future. Greater Together. We Don't Quit.

They may not be official but those are all phrases that could in one form or another be candidates to become President Barack Obama's re-election slogan.

Advisers say a fresh slogan to replace the winning "Change we can believe in" mantra of 2008, is unlikely to appear before Obama knows who his Republican opponent will be and starts big campaign travel swings, likely in the spring or summer.

His campaign posters now say simply, "Obama 2012."

But Obama's surrogates have roadtested some slogans in recent months, including "Winning The Future," which the White House used to promote its budget, and "Greater Together," which the campaign has used to brand its youth outreach effort.

A new tagline will have to reflect a new reality.

CBO Admits True Unemployment is 15 Percent

The only information the CBO admitted is that the true unemployment rate is 15%. This is all what the American public needs to know. Obama is over his head. He can not lead this country. The president threw his hands in the air admitting he made a mistake. Obama thought it was easy to be president. Well, welcome to reality, Mr. President.

(USNEWS) After three years with unemployment topping 8 percent, the U.S. has seen the longest period of high unemployment since the Great Depression, the Congressional Budget Office noted in a report issued today.

And, despite some recent good news on the economic front, the CBO is still predicting that unemployment will remain above 8 percent until 2014. The report also notes that, including those who haven't sought work in the past four weeks and those who are working part-time but seeking full-time employment, the unemployment rate would be 15 percent.

New Rules For Facebook…Leaked

Facebook will start to challenge our 1st Amendment Rights with 10 rules to censorship. What ever happen to basic common sense? Isn't there an option to tag a post as inappropriate? By opening Pandora's box, our basic liberty and freedom will be further tested. If something is offensive, report it. We don't have to re-create the wheel. Thus, to the habitual violators, your post will be red flagged and a serious penalty will be enforced.

(K1047.com) Facebook’s internal content guideline was leaked yesterday, that’s what they use to figure out which posts aren’t appropriate and should be deleted. We’ve scored the information of what they will and won’t censor…

#1.) Foreplay like kissing and GROPING will NOT be censored. Even, “for same-sex individuals.” But actual sexual activity WILL be censored, obviously.

#2.) Photos that show a side-by-side comparison between a person and an animal WILL be censored.

#3.) Photoshopped images MIGHT be censored. If the Photoshopping portrays the person in a negative light, the photo will be removed. But if the Photoshopping portrays the person in a positive or neutral way, the photo can stay.

#4.) Images of drunk or unconscious people with stuff drawn on their face WILL be censored. Which is a surprise, because I see these all the time.

#5.) Graphic photos of dead animals WILL be censored. Unless the photos are in the context of food prep or, “hunting as it occurs in nature,” like a lion eating a zebra or something.

#6.) Works of art showing nudity WILL NOT be censored. But cartoon nudity will be removed.

#7.) Adult love toys MIGHT be censored. If they’re in the context of sexual activity, they’re gone. If you’re just, like, holding a vibrating toy, you’re clear.

#8.) Bodily fluids WILL NOT be censored. Vomit, snot, earwax, and anything in the toilet are all probably clear. But not if you post a photo of someone in the act of actually releasing bodily fluids.

#9.) Photos of poaching endangered animals WILL be censored, and will be reported.

#10.) And finally, photos of, “blatant depiction of camel toes and moose knuckles” WILL be censored.

Obama Explains On Failed Promise To Cut Deficit In Half

It took this long the American people to figure this out. Obama is a failed president. Duh! Look at the video. Obama is still blaming everyone except himself. This is Obama fault! Obama doesn't get it. Obama is way over his head. The president thinks it is good to see the unemployment rate down while more jobless workers are getting long term unemployment benefits, fewer people on the workforce, and more people gave up looking for work. That is the change to believe in.

(Real Clear Politics)) In an interview with Atlanta's local Fox affiliate WAGA-TV President Obama explains why he was unable to cut the deficit in half in his first term, a promise he made as a candidate.

Obama was lobbed the question by a sympathetic reporter who said he is getting "pelted in the media" for making a campaign promise he did not keep.

"Well we're not there because this recession turned out to be a lot deeper than any of us realized," Obama said about his inability to cut the deficit in half.

"Everybody who is out there back in 2009, if you look back what their estimates were in terms of how many jobs had been lost, how bad the economy had contracted when I took office, everybody underestimated it. People thought that the economy contracted 3%. It turns it retracted close to 9%. We lost 8 million jobs just in a year's span, about half a year before I took office and half a year after I took office," Obama said.

"So, the die had been cast, but a lot of us didn't understand at that point how bad it was going to get. That increases the deficit because less tax revenues come in, and it means that more people are getting unemployment insurance, we're helping states more so they don't teachers, etc. The key though is we're setting ourselves on a path where we can get our debt under control."

Gas Prices May Soon Hit $4 a Gallon. Thank You, Obama

Here we go again. Expect $4.00/gallon of gas to happen very soon. While Obama decided not to open the Keystone Pipeline from Canada to Texas, the president is saying to trade in our cars for an electric car. But in the meantime, Obama wants us to put air in our tires to save gas. (Shaking my head...)

(ABC NEWS) Gasoline prices could soon hit $4 a gallon, a threshold they haven't flirted with since last spring.

The average price paid by U.S. drivers for a gallon of regular now stands at $3.52, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which released its latest figures this afternoon. That price represents an increase of 0.04 percent from a week ago and 0.38 percent from a year ago.

Experts expect prices to spike another 60 cents or more, with the $4 mark being touched—or exceeded—sometime this summer, probably by Memorial Day weekend, the peak of the summer driving season. The last time the U.S. saw $4 gasoline was back in the summer of 2008.

Historically, $4 a gallon has been the upper limit of what consumers have been willing to pay. Last April, national prices peaked at about $3.98 a gallon before receding. "It's going to be tough to sustain that level," thinks Brian Milne of energy tracker Televent DTN. "People will drive less."

RIP Whitney Houston. The Greatest Voice of ALL Time

Remember Obama saying he would cut the deficit in half

The president states there is a caveat with miss projected budget deficit. However, at this point, we can't believe anything he say because the president is full of crap. The idea he can decrease the deficit in half by his term is up is ridiculous. Only a moron would believe in it. You can't spend like a drunken sailor and cut the deficit in half at the same time. Duh?!?!

(USA Today) President Obama's proposed 2013 budget will forecast a $901 billion deficit for next year, falling far short of his goal to halve the deficit in four years.
The budget, an outline of which was released by the White House Friday night, will show a higher deficit this year than in 2011, up from $1.3 trillion to $1.33 trillion.

Washington Paid Cell Phone Bill for Millions of Poor Americans

One of many entitlement programs our government supports. Who said the poor had it rough? I didn't know owning a phone was a right.

(YAHOO) Last year, a federal program paid out $1.6 billion to cover free cell phones and the monthly bills of 12.5 million wireless accounts. The program, overseen by the FCC and intended to help low-income Americans, is popular for obvious reasons, with participation rising steeply since 2008, when the government paid $772 million for phones and monthly bills. But observers complain that the program suffers from poor oversight, in which phones go to people who don't qualify, and hundreds of thousands of those who do qualify have more than one phone.
Last summer, a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review story shed some light on a government program that relatively few Americans knew existed. (Read more about it here.) The Lifeline program provides low-income Americans with free cell phones (basic ones such as those made by Tracfone, not smartphones) and covers up to 250 free minutes each month. As many as 5.5 million residents in Pennsylvania alone could qualify for the program, which is funded primarily by the Universal Service Fund fee added to the bills of land-line and wireless customers.

Obama struggles to contain uproar over birth-control rule

Obama thought he could pull a fast one on the church. The church is fighting back and the voters are getting angry over the birth control mandate.

(The Hill) The White House struggled Wednesday to contain the growing uproar over its birth-control mandate, with Democrats peeling off one by one in what has become an increasingly divisive election-year controversy.

Pressure to roll back the new contraception policy mounted quickly as the day wore on, driven by divisions among Democrats, mixed messages from President Obama’s advisers and a constant drumbeat from the GOP.

“It’s becoming a thorny problem for the White House and it appears to only be getting worse,” said one Democratic strategist. “The politically astute move would be to modify this thing, and quick.”

Asked if the administration should shift course, a former senior administration official said, “I don’t see how they couldn’t. It’s pretty bad.”

Bradying is a new trend to support Tom Brady

Bradying is the new Tebowing but for Losers!

Bradying is the new fad for losers! Brady is a whimp. I support the people's champion Tim Tebow!

Obama Promised No Lobbyist in his Campaign. BS!

I thought President Obama banned registered lobbyists from personally contributing donations to his campaign. Obama was quoted in Dec. 28, 2011, “We don’t take a dime from D.C. lobbyists or special-interest PACs—never have and never will.” Yeah, right. Damn, hypocrite.

(FREEBEACON) UPDATE II: After a WFB exclusive, Ron Klein tells NBC’s Michael Isikoff that he plans to immediately de-register as a lobbyist for Spirit Airlines Inc., saying he never meant to register in the first place.
“I’m not a lobbyist,” Klein said, claiming his registration was the result of a “clerical error” by an employee of Holland & Knight LLP, the lobbying law firm where he works.
Klein’s assertion seems to contradict comments made by an Obama campaign official earlier in the day, which indicated that Klein was, in fact, a registered lobbyist.
“The minute [Klein] became a lobbyist, he stopped raising money for the campaign,”the official told Politico. “He’s no longer associated with the campaign.”
Klein said he plans to continue bundling donations for Obama’s reelection campaign. He has already raised at least $200,000 to date.
Holland & Knight spokeswoman Linda Butler told the Washington Free Beacon the firm is “not commenting on this story.”

Santorum Wins the Tri-Fecta in Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado

What does it say about Romney's electability? If Romney can't win in the mid-west, might as well give the presidency back to Obama in November.

(CBS News)   DENVER -- It took one night for Rick Santorum to become a player again in the Republican presidential race.
The former Pennsylvania senator came out on top in the voting in all three contests Tuesday night, including an unexpected five-point victory in Colorado's caucuses. Santorum also won the Minnesota caucuses, by an 18-point margin, and he won by 30 points in the Missouri primary.
Santorum moves on without any new delegates, but with plenty of momentum.
For everyone who flat-out declared the GOP battle a two-man race between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, voters in three states Tuesday night said, "Not so fast." Rick Santorum pulled off huge wins in Missouri, Minnesota and, incredibly, Colorado -- a state Romney was supposed to have locked up.
"Conservatism is alive and well in Missouri and Minnesota," Santorum told a cheering crowd in Missouri.

Bishop: Obama Telling Catholics ‘To Hell With You’

Even though the president didn't say, "to hell with you," he might as well say it. If Catholics decide to vote for Obama in November, they might as well change religion. Catholics are typically Democrat and will be consider hypocrites if they allow Obama get his way.

- Roman Catholic Bishop David A. Zubik of Pittsburgh says the Obama administration is telling American Catholics: “To Hell with you.”
“The Obama administration has just told the Catholics of the United States, ‘To Hell with you!’” the bishop said in a column posted on his diocesan website. “There is no other way to put it.”
The bishop was responding to a regulation, finalized by Health and Human Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Jan. 20, that orders all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives--including those that induce abortions--without any fees or co-pay.
There is no exemption at all for individual citizens or private businesses.
The Catholic Church teaches that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion are morally wrong and that Catholics cannot be involved in them. After the regulation was first announced in August, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Catholic lay leaders urged the administration to rescind it while pointing out that it would require Catholics to act against their consciences and their faith and was thus a violation of the First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion.

Obama Fuzzy Math Brings Unemployment Rate to 8.3%

From the article, "The number of unemployed Americans dropped to 12.8 million, the lowest since January 2009, from 13.1 million in December. Still, the number of those who have been unemployed for 27 weeks or more -- a source of concern for the Fed -- was little changed at 5.52 million and accounted for almost 43 percent of the total." Read the last sentence. The number of workers unemployed for 27 weeks or more is around 5.52 million and that accounts for 43% of the total of the workforce. Obama is using fuzzy math to derive the unemployment rate. 8.3% unemployment rate is a joke. Taking those workers not looking for a job are not including in the equations. Let's not fool ourselves. The economy still sucks

(Bloomberg) The U.S. jobless rate unexpectedly fell in January to the lowest in three years as payrolls climbed more than forecast, casting doubt on the Federal Reserve’s plan to keep interest rates low until late 2014.
The unemployment rate dropped to 8.3 percent, the lowest since February 2009, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The 243,000 increase in jobs was the biggest in nine months and exceeded the most optimistic forecast in a Bloomberg News survey. Service industries grew by the most in a year, according to a separate report.
“We’ve reached an important threshold here,” said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. in New York. “The recovery is for real.”
Stocks and bond yields jumped on optimism the economy will weather the European debt crisis as an improving labor market fuels household spending. The data, which showed gains from factories to retailers, may boost President Barack Obama’s re- election bid and come a week after Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said unemployment would be slow to decline.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose 1.5 percent to 1,344.90 at the close of trading in New York, extending the best start to a year since 1987. The index is up 6.9 percent in 2012. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note climbed to 1.92 percent from 1.82 percent late yesterday.

Rick Santelli: Here's What's Wrong With the Jobs Number

In a nutshell, Obama wanted to improve the unemployment rate in an election year. By using fuzzy math, the president decided to take out people from the employment statistics. In fact, Obama has been doing this since taking office. There're millions of people who gave up looking for a job and when this happens, they are taken out of the employment statistics-- even though, they would go back to work if they had an opportunity. The unemployment figure should actually be like 15%. Thus, Americans should not get fall under the pretense that the economy is recovering. It is a farce.

'Blow away' text lands Muslim in Canada jail

nyc trade show

While the Muslim community claim it is knee-jerk reaction, there are things not appropriate to say in public. For example, one can not say "bomb" at an airport and "fire" in a crowd theater. Thus, it is inappropriate for a Muslim to text "blow away the competition" in a New York City Trade Show.

'Blow away' text lands Muslim in Canada jail

A Muslim businessman in Canada became a terror suspect for telling his sales staff in a text message to "blow away" the competition at a New York City trade show, a religious association said Friday.

Moroccan-born Saad Allami, who works as a telecommunications company sales manager, was arrested three days after he sent the message in January 2011 and detained while police searched his home, said the Muslim Council of Montreal.

Artist Depicts Obama Trampling on The Constitution

forgotten man

Once again, the picture of "The Forgotten Man" has resurfaced. Since its release in 2010, this picture is a constant reminder that Obama is an awful president. No other president before him had reason to defecate on the US Constitution. The American people must make Obama a one term president.

Controversial Artist Depicts Obama Trampling The Constitution « CBS Las Vegas

Provo, Utah (CBS Las Vegas) - In front of the White House a man is sitting on a park bench in the throes of depression. He is surrounded by 43 presidents. In the forefront, purposefully ignoring the depressed man is President Obama, whose right foot is stepping on the Constitution. James Madison is next to Obama, pleading with him to stop.

This tableau is called “The Forgotten Man”, a painting by Jon McNaughton, an artist who is known for his politically-charged work.
The painting, which uses objects such as discarded dollar bills as symbols and scraps of paper with individual constitutional amendments scrawled onto them, has been making the rounds across the Internet.

The painting was initially released in 2010 and has resurfaced, causing a stir when it appeared for a caption contest on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s blog.

The responses have ranged from sarcastic — “We’ll trade you this peasant for that constitution. We’ll even throw in the bench.” –
to Photoshop works of art.

Stats Comparing Accomplishment Between Newt and Romney

Not many people really understand the accomplishments between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. The comparison between the two candidates is huge. Besides looking presidential, it is important to get a candidate that will beat Obama in November. I hope this will educate the masses. I do not want to see what happened in Florida occur in other states. It was an embarrassment when McCain got the nod in 2008. Do not make the same mistake twice by putting Romney as the GOP nominee. He had his chance in 2008.

Mitt Romney as MA Governor:
  • 4 years as governor – 220 days absent his last year.
  • Scored a 55 on CATO scorecard of Governors.
  • Had a Democrat Controlled Congress.
  • Promised no new taxes and raised them excessively.
In 2003, Romney actually set the record for the most fee increases enacted by a state, according to the National Conference of State Legislators. In addition, he raised over $300 million dollars from businesses by “closing loopholes” on subchapter S corporations but this loophole closing actually resulted in doubling the tax rates. Indeed, as Peter Nicholas, chairman of Boston Scientific stated, “when Mitt Romney became governor in 2003, subchapter S corporations that were owned by Massachusetts business trusts were taxed at 5.3 percent…..By the time Romney left office, the tax rate on these corporations had climbed to 9.8 percent.” *
  • Was 47th out of 50 in job creation of all Governors. If Katrina had not hit he would have been lower.
  • State spending ended $5.2 billion dollars higher when he began office.
  • He left a $3 billion deficit.
  • He spent millions on pork projects such as buying new cars for welfare recipients.
  • Initiated most liberal progressive socialized health care of any state in history.  50% (2010 poll) dislike it, and costs are higher than other states.
  • Allowed Planned Parenthood to be incorporated into MA law by name as part of the oversight of parts of the program.
  • Used executive orders to implement gay marriage
  • Romney spent millions of state money pursuing Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) and although they dumped it, then created theMassachusetts Climate Protection Plan
  • Romney dramatically limited emissions on six power plants, even going so far as to claim – with radical environmentalists at his side – that one power plant had killed 59 people.
  • He continued to grant state aid to four “sanctuary cities” in Massachusetts with no effort made to restrict this assistance. Contrary to his campaign propaganda there was no bill or effort to give drivers licenses to illegals that he “fought.”
  • One of his own endorsers (Powerline) admit, “…there is no question that Governor Romney’s initial fiscal discipline slacked off in the second half of his term…” Note: Said another way, he couldn’t even be fiscally responsible for more than  2 years.

    Conservative initiatives?
  • He consolidated the social service and public health bureaucracy and restructured the Metropolitan District Commission.
  • Romney even eliminated half of the executive branch’s press positions, saving $1.2 million. (yes million).
  • In May of 2004, he proposed cutting the state’s income tax rate from 5.3% to 5.0%. He failed. Three times.
  • He pushed for legislation that increased the number of hours each week recipients must work and establishing a five-year limit for receiving benefits.
  • He forced Medicaid recipients to make co-payments for some services and for new state workers to increase contributions from 15% to 25%.
  • He changed the state pension system by moving it from a defined benefit system to a defined contribution system.
  • He vetoed a “card check” system for unions.
  • He vetoed a minimum wage law.
Romney left office without running for a second term with approval ratings under 35%.

Newt Gingrich as GA Congressman and Speaker of the House:
  • 33 years as Congressman including 4 as Speaker of the House
  • Lifetime American Conservative Union rating of 90%
(most recent year was for 1998 at 100%)* **
  • He had a Democrat controlled Congress up until 1994, a Democrat President and Senate from 1992 until 1998
  • Helped Reagan pass biggest tax cut in 50 years as Minority Whip, called out George Bush on breaking his promise and led (as a legislator) a Democrat President to do the same.
  • Art Laffer confirms Gingrich helped on a team that designed “Supply Side Economics.”
  • Supported/Championed policies that created 11 Million jobs.
  • National Taxpayers Union’s Annual Scorecard on reduced spending and taxes gave Gingrich an “A”, for his last four years in office, ranking him #1, #4, #2 and #11 and as one of the most conservative members in Congress.
  • Led a Balanced Budget initiative with a Democrat President. AS A SPEAKER not an Executive Branch Leader and not in control of the Senate or Executive Branch.  He balanced the budget 4 times creating the first SURPLUS in decades.
  • $400 billion in debt was paid off during time as Speaker, although Gingrich agreed with Reagan on deal that ended up running deficits until 1988.
  • Fought and defeated HillaryCare both in strategy, as well as political and legislative maneuvering.
  • On third try got a Democratic President and Senate to initiate Welfare Reform that put 60% of recipients to work.
  • Gingrich’s pro-life voting record is 98.6%, 70 out of 71 votes.
  • Brought two partial birth abortion bills to Clinton that served as the model for what was passed under George W. Bush.
  • He helped Reagan’s initiative to eliminate 12 of 94 programs and cut budgets of many others like the SBA more than 50%.
  • He identified, recruited, campaigned for and helped organize over the biggest minority opposition swing getting 367 Congressional candidates to sign the Contract With America.  This resulted in a NET GOP pickup of 52 seats in the House, 8 in the Senate and 11 Governorships.
  • Multiple conservatives congressmen got their political start including:
Jon Kyl Mike DeWine Jim Inhofe Fred Thompson Bill Frist Rick Santorum
  • Contract With America - (1995 Description): “…represented the culmination of 30 years of creative conservative thinking dealing with the basic social and economic problems of modern America. The ideas provided the background for the widest range of legislative initiatives, certainly since the 1930s, and possibly at any time in American political history.”

The ten items in the Contract were all acted upon in the first 100 days of the new Congress, which is what the signatories had pledged. Nine of the ten items in the Contract passed the House: Only the constitutional amendment on term limits (which required a two-thirds vote) was defeated. Out of a total of 302 roll call votes on issues related to the Contract With America, the conservatives prevailed on 299 of them. A balanced budget amendment passed in the House by a 300-123 margin but was subsequently defeated as it fell one vote short of the two-thirds needed for passage in the U.S. Senate. The overall margin by which the items in the Contract were passed averaged about 70 percent despite the fact that the Republicans only held a 12-seat margin over the Democrats (52-48 percent, the smallest House majority margin in 40 years). Given the notorious lack of party discipline in the American Congress, the passage by a large majority of nearly all of the items in the Contract was a remarkable achievement.

I can’t adequately cover all 10 initiatives and their profundity but they include:
    • Congressional Reform including Congress being subject to the law they pass
    • Balanced Budget with Line Item Veto (failed Senate, passed Veto but declared unconstitutional)
    • Anti-crime package (truth in sentencing, more law enforcement help)
    • Personal Responsibility (ultimately became Welfare Reform)
    • Tax Package Including Child  Tax Credit, Elimination of Marriage Penalty, Savings Account, Middle Class Tax Relief
    • Disallow US Troops from serving under foreign authorites like the UN

When Newt became Speaker in 1995 congressional approval was about 20%. When he resigned the Speakership four years later, it was about 60%. Now it’s 11%.

Romney Had a Foot in Mouth Moment

Another foot in mouth moment. If Romney gets the nomination, he will suffer from an onslaught by Obama in the debates. I can not understand how Romney won Florida. Romney is no different from Obama. In fact, the media and the Obama campaign wants Romney to win the GOP nomination. Ask yourself why?

(AP) EAGAN, Minn. -- Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney, confident after his Florida primary victory, ended up inviting criticism Wednesday when he said he's "not concerned about the very poor" because they have an "ample safety net."

Democrats and Republicans alike - including opponent Newt Gingrich - pounced and the GOP front-runner quickly sought to explain his remarks.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," Romney told reporters on his campaign plane when asked about the comments. "No, no, no. You've got to take the whole sentence, all right, it's mostly the same." He said his remark was consistent with his theme throughout the race, adding: "My energy is going to be devoted to helping middle-income people."

Despite that explanation, Romney's comments quickly became an immediate distraction from his message that he's more conservative than Gingrich and from the double-digit thumping the former House speaker sustained in Florida. His campaign worked behind the scenes to provide context for the comment.
Gingrich raised Romney's remark at his first event since losing the Florida primary. He read Romney's quotes aloud and they were met with boos from the crowd at a brewery in Reno, Nev.

"I am fed up with politicians in either party dividing Americans against each other," Gingrich said. "I am running to be the president of all the American people and I am concerned about all the American people."

Gallup State Numbers Predict a Huge Obama Loss

I hope the numbers don't lie!

(Washington Examiner) Gallup released their annual state-by-state presidential approval numbers yesterday, and the results should have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue very worried. If President Obama carries only those states where he had a net positive approval rating in 2011 (e.g. Michigan where he is up 48 percent to 44 percent), Obama would lose the 2012 election to the Republican nominee 323 electoral votes to 215.
Gallup adds:
Overall, Obama averaged 44% job approval in his third year in office, down from 47% in his second year. His approval rating declined from 2010 to 2011 in most states, with Wyoming, Connecticut, and Maine showing a marginal increase, and Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia showing declines of less than a full percentage point. The greatest declines were in Hawaii, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico.

Michelle Obama cites remarkable progress on the economy

The first lady is clueless like her husband!

(The Hill) First Lady Michelle Obama cited "remarkable progress" on the economy during a speech for a small crowd of high-profile Hollywood names in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening.
"In the last three years, we've worked hard to get out of this mess and we've made some remarkable progress," the first lady told a group of about 135 supporters at a private campaign event for her husband. She listed President Obama's accomplishments on healthcare reform, the removal of troops from Iraq and the repeal of "Don't ask, don't tell" among other items on the list of "promises kept" touted by Obama's reelection campaign.
"We know there are people still suffering and there is a long road left to travel," she continued, citing unfinished work as another reason to reelect Obama.
