Obama’s Approval Hits All-Time Low Among Women

Obama is losing the base that propelled him to the White House in 2008. Women and Independents woke up to the nightmare Obama has done in three short years in the Oval Office. There are many Independents and women who are appalled that they were duped by Obama. Honestly, it was white guilt that took Obama into the White House, but that is something to write about one day. It seems the only groups that support Obama are the Black vote and the Muslim vote. Since the 2012 election won't be base on Obama's accomplishments, it will be base on scare tactics, lies, and character assassination of the GOP presidential nominee.

(CNSNews.com) - Barack Obama defeated Sen. John McCain 56 percent to 43 percent among female voters in the 2008 presidential election, according to the network exit poll, and Obama’s job performance as president won the support of 70 percent of women early in his tenure.

But Gallup polling last week showed that only 41 percent of women now say they approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president. That is an all-time low--down from the previous low of 43 percent, which is what Obama’s approval had been among women in each of the previous three weeks.

Obama’s approval has dropped 11 points among women over the past three months. In the last week of May, according to the Gallup poll, the president’s approval among females was at 52 percent.

Obama’s approval among women peaked at 70 percent in the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 2009, his first full week in office.

Green Jobs Permanently Gone Due to Expensive Technology

Green Technology is not ready to go mainstream. There are more green companies going bankrupt or "belly-up." The bottom line is that the technology is too expensive to make. The technology needs more research and refinement. If green energy is expensive to make, the technology would be unattractive to the consumer after a cost mark-up is added to it. Hence, electric cars and CFL light bulbs are not in public demand.

(Mercury News) Solyndra, a Fremont-based solar panel manufacturer that flared then sputtered, abruptly ceased operations on Wednesday and immediately laid off all 1,100 of its workers.

The shutdown marks a high-profile collapse of a company that received more than $1.6 billion in federal and private funding in recent years.

"This was an unexpected outcome and is most unfortunate," Brian Harrison, Solyndra's president and chief executive, said.

The company received $535 million in taxpayer money from the U.S. Department of Energy and $1.1 billion in private venture capital funding.

Solyndra workers who were laid off on Wednesday were dismissed without layoff packages.

Solyndra was founded in 2005 by Chris Gronet, a veteran of Applied Materials who earned his Ph.D. at Stanford University.

President Barack Obama touted Solyndra as a poster child for clean energy after the company received the federal funds.

"Companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future," Obama said during a 2010 visit to the company's Fremont headquarters.

Although Solyndra was buttressed by VC and federal money, the company struggled. Among the challenges that doomed Solyndra: Low-cost Chinese manufacturers backed by large subsidies from the government are building massive factories that have rapidly driven down the price of solar panels and shifted more than 50 percent of production to China.

Yet analysts also noted that Solyndra had failed to curb its manufacturing costs. Industry watchers pointed out that Solyndra's solar tubes were still about two or three times as expensive as the standard costs for solar manufacturers in the United States.

Mental Illness Linked to Global Warming...PALM TO FOREHEAD!!!

.....PALM TO FOREHEAD.... This is the most idiotic rationalizing I have read. If this is the mentality for reasoning, one can say that to end Liberal stupidity it is okay to kill a Liberal. Wait! Hmm....... LOL.

(SMH) RATES of mental illnesses including depression and post-traumatic stress will increase as a result of climate change, a report to be released today says.

The paper, prepared for the Climate Institute, says loss of social cohesion in the wake of severe weather events related to climate change could be linked to increased rates of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse.

As many as one in five people reported ''emotional injury, stress and despair'' in the wake of these events.

The report, A Climate of Suffering: The Real Cost of Living with Inaction on Climate Change, called the past 15 years a ''preview of life under unrestrained global warming''.

''While cyclones, drought, bushfires and floods are all a normal part of Australian life, there is no doubt our climate is changing,'' the report says.

''For instance, the intensity and frequency of bushfires is greater. This is a 'new normal', for which the past provides little guidance …

''Moreover, recent conditions are entirely consistent with the best scientific predictions: as the world warms so the weather becomes wilder, with big consequences for people's health and well-being.''

The paper suggests a possible link between Australia's recent decade-long drought and climate change. It points to a breakdown of social cohesion caused by loss of work and associated stability, adding that the suicide rate in rural communities rose by 8 per cent.

The report also looks at mental health in the aftermath of major weather events possibly linked to climate change.

It shows that one in 10 primary school children reported symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in the wake of cyclone Larry in 2006. More than one in 10 reported symptoms more than three months after the cyclone.

''There's really clear evidence around severe weather events,'' the executive director of the Brain and Mind Research Institute, Professor Ian Hickie, said.

''We're now more sophisticated in understanding the mental health effects and these effects are one of the major factors.

''What we have seriously underestimated is the effects on social cohesion. That is very hard to rebuild and they are critical to the mental health of an individual.''

Professor Hickie, who is launching the report today, said climate change and particularly severe weather events were likely to be a major factor influencing mental health in the future.

''When we talk about the next 50 years and what are going to be the big drivers at the community level of mental health costs, one we need to factor in are severe weather events, catastrophic weather events,'' he said.

14 Reasons Why Rick Perry Would be a Bad President

I had doubts about Texas Governor Rick Perry running as a presidential candidate. After researching Perry via the internet, I have made a conclusion that the Texas Governor is a RHINO (Republican in Name Only). Before I did my research, there were two issues I knew about Rick Perry. He was a Democrat that turned Republican when Gore lost the presidential nomination in 1988. Perry was also part of the New World Order called the Bilderberg Group. These two issues should be enough to cause a red flag among conservatives. Do not be fooled by Rick Perry. He is another Washington elitist.

(Prison Planet)

The following are 14 reasons why Rick Perry would be a really, really bad president….

#1 Rick Perry is a “big government” politician. When Rick Perry became the governor of Texas in 2000, the total spending by the Texas state government was approximately $49 billion. Ten years later it was approximately $90 billion. That is not exactly reducing the size of government.

#2 The debt of the state of Texas is out of control. According to usdebtclock.org, the debt to GDP ratio in Texas is 22.9% and the debt per citizen is $10,645. In California (a total financial basket case), the debt to GDP ratio is just 18.7% and the debt per citizen is only $9932. If Rick Perry runs for president these are numbers he will want to keep well hidden.

#3 The total debt of the Texas government has more than doubled since Rick Perry became governor. So what would the U.S. national debt look like after four (or eight) years of Rick Perry?

#4 Rick Perry has spearheaded the effort to lease roads in Texas to foreign companies, to turn roads that are already free to drive on into toll roads, and to develop the Trans-Texas Corridor which would be part of the planned NAFTA superhighway system. If you really do deep research on this whole Trans-Texas Corridor nonsense you will see why no American should ever cast a single vote for Rick Perry.

#5 Rick Perry claims that he has a “track record” of not raising taxes. That is a false claim. Rick Perry has repeatedly raised taxes and fees while he has been governor. Today, Texans are faced with significantly higher taxes and fees than they were before Rick Perry was elected.

#6 Even with the oil boom in Texas, 23 states have a lower unemployment rate than Texas does.

#7 Back in 1988, Rick Perry supported Al Gore for president. In fact, Rick Perry actually served as Al Gore’s campaign chairman in the state of Texas that year.

#8 Between December 2007 and April 2011, weekly wages in the U.S. increased by about 5 percent. In the state of Texas they increased by just 0.6% over that same time period.

#9 Texas now has one of the worst education systems in the nation. The following is from an opinion piece that was actually authored by Barbara Bush earlier this year….

•  We rank 36th in the nation in high school graduation rates. An estimated 3.8 million Texans do not have a high school diploma.

•  We rank 49th in verbal SAT scores, 47th in literacy and 46th in average math SAT scores.

•  We rank 33rd in the nation on teacher salaries.

#10 Rick Perry attended the Bilderberg Group meetings in 2007. Associating himself with that organization should be a red flag for all American voters.

#11 Texas has the highest percentage of workers making minimum wage out of all 50 states.

#12 Rick Perry often gives speeches about illegal immigration, but when you look at the facts, he has been incredibly soft on the issue. If Rick Perry does not plan to secure the border, then he should not be president because illegal immigration is absolutely devastating many areas of the southwest United States.

#13 In 2007, 221,000 residents of Texas were making minimum wage or less. By 2010, that number had risen to 550,000.

#14 Rick Perry actually issued an executive order in 2007 that would have forced almost every single girl in the state of Texas to receive the Gardasil vaccine before entering the sixth grade. Perry would have put parents in a position where they would have had to fill out an application and beg the government not to inject their child with an untested and unproven vaccine. Since then, very serious safety issues regarding this vaccine have come to light. Fortunately, lawmakers in Texas blocked what Perry was trying to do. According to Wikipedia, many were troubled when “apparent financial connections between Merck and Perry were reported by news outlets, such as a $6,000 campaign contribution and Merck’s hiring of former Perry Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to handle its Texas lobbying work.”

Rick Perry has a record that should make all Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents cringe.

He is not the “conservative Republican” that he is trying to claim that he is. He is simply another in a long line of “RINOs” (Republicans in name only).

If Rick Perry becomes president, he will probably be very similar to George W. Bush. He will explode the size of the U.S. government and U.S. government debt, he will find sneaky ways to raise taxes, he will do nothing about the Federal Reserve or corruption in our financial system and he will push the agenda of the globalists at every turn.

Look, the truth is that another four years of Barack Obama would be a complete and total nightmare.

But so would four years of Rick Perry.

America deserves better than the “lesser of two evils”.

Unfortunately, the American people have been dead asleep and have been sending incompetents, con men and charlatans to Washington D.C. for decades.

Hopefully things will be different in 2012.

Muslim Americans Overwhelmingly Support Obama

The newest group to support Obama are Muslims living in America. I am not surprised.

(Reuters) - A majority of U.S. Muslims are content with the nation's direction in contrast to many Americans and few Muslims believe there is support for Islamic extremism here, a survey released on Tuesday found.

With the 10th anniversary of the al Qaeda attacks on New York and the Pentagon approaching, the Pew Research Center found that most Muslims felt ordinary Americans were friendly or neutral toward them.

In contrast to the majority of the general public dissatisfied with the nation's direction, 56 percent of the estimated 2.75 million American Muslims said they are satisfied, the survey showed. Seven out of 10 view President Barack Obama's tenure favourably.

"On a variety of measures, Muslims in America are very content with their own lives and with the communities where they live," Pew researcher Greg Smith said in an interview.

Four out of five Muslim Americans surveyed were satisfied with the way things are going in their lives and rated their communities very positively as places to live.

"We've seen Muslims move in a different direction than the rest of the country (with more) believing America is going in the right direction," Smith said.

Only 6 percent of Muslims in the survey of slightly more than 1,000 surveyed by telephone between April and July said they there is a great deal of support for Islamic extremism in Muslim-American communities. Another 15 percent said there is a fair amount of support among U.S. Muslims of extremism.

Among the general public, four in 10 believe extremism is supported in the Muslim American community, researchers said.

The general level of satisfaction among American Muslims was reflected in the 76 percent who approved of Obama's performance as president -- nine out of 10 said they voted for the Democrat in 2008. Muslim support for Obama contrasts with unfavourable views of his Republican predecessor, George Bush.

There are an estimated 1.8 million Muslim adults in the United States, including U.S.-born converts, a 300,000 increase since 2007. Two-thirds were born in other countries.

Hurricane Irene Hype Made People Spend Which Obama Wanted

We had an earthquake that became old news as soon as it happened. The media considered it old news. But as soon as a potential, devastating hurricane was coming, the media started their propaganda. It was not a Category 4 that the media hoped. It turns out Hurricane Irene was an obvious flop, but the media loves chaos. Also, Obama declared he was spear-heading the relief efforts at hurricane command center was a joke. Politicians trying to score political points looked stupid. Hurricane Irene was not taken lightly, but it was not the "end of the world" scenario as the media and politicians wanted. As the media caused hysteria, people went out and spend. It caused Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Lowe, and others to run out of supplies. Obama must be please that people were spending, which will help the economy. It is a twisted way to make people spend their money. In this recession, Obama is hoping to capitalize more tragedies. Like Obama's motto, "Don't let a good crisis go to waste."

(Telegraph) For the television reporter, clad in his red cagoule emblazoned with the CNN logo, it was a dramatic on-air moment, broadcasting live from Long Island, New York during a hurricane that also threatened Manhattan.

“We are in, right, now…the right eye wall, no doubt about that…there you see the surf,” he said breathlessly. “That tells a story right there.”

Stumbling and apparently buffeted by ferocious gusts, he took shelter next to a building. “This is our protection from the wind,” he explained. “It’s been truly remarkable to watch the power of the ocean here.”

The surf may have told a story but so too did the sight behind the reporter of people chatting and ambling along the sea front and just goofing around. There was a man in a t-shirt, a woman waving her arms and then walking backwards. Then someone on a bicycle glided past.

Across the screen, the “Breaking News: Irene Batters Long Island” caption was replaced by stern advice from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): “Stay inside, stay safe.”

The images summed up Hurricane Irene – the media and the United States federal government trying to live up to their own doom-laden warnings and predictions while a sizeable number of ordinary Americans just carried on as normal and even made gentle fun of all the fuss.

There was almost palpable disappointment among the TV big guns rolled out for the occasion when Irene was downgraded to a mere ‘tropical storm”. In New York city, CNN’s silver-haired Anderson Cooper, more usually seen in a tight t-shirt in a famine or war zone, was clad in what one wag dubbed “disaster casual”.

Then came the press conferences from the politicians, with Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey insisting that his evacuation of the Jersey Shore was “a pre-emptive measure that I am confident saved lives” and there could still be damage worth “tens of billions” of dollars.

Janet Napolitano, the Homeland Security chief, declared that there was “a ways to go with Irene” but “with the evacuations and other precautions taken we have dramatically decreased the risk to life”. Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York seemed thoroughly delighted with himself, as if he personally had calmed the waters and stifled the winds.

The truth is that the dire warning beforehand suited both politicians and journalists. Just as with the minor earthquake that shook the east coast last week causing no loss of life and virtually no damage, Irene became a huge story because it was where the media lived.

For politicians, Irene was a chance to either make amends or appear in control. The White House sent out 25 Irene emails to the press on Saturday alone.

There were photographs of President Barack Obama touring disaster centres and footage of him asking sombre, pertinent questions. With his poll ratings plummeting, Obama needed to project an aura of seriousness and command. He was all too aware that the political fortunes of his predecessor George W Bush never recovered after the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005.

The press mostly reported the message the White House had carefully crafted: “Obama takes charge” read the headline of one wire service story.

At the state level, Irene was a chance for political redemption. Christie had been lambasted around the start of the year for taking a holiday during one of the worst snow storms in New Jersey history.

Bloomberg, who ordered a mandatory evacuation of residents in low-lying areas during Irene that thousands ignored, had been widely criticised for inadequate clean-up plans during the same blizzards.

There was some loss of life during Irene, though significantly less than during dozens of other weather events across the US this year.

Preparation for the worst-case scenario makes sense and could have saved hundreds during Katrina. But the worst-case scenario was largely portrayed as inevitable. Some of the footage of television reporters putting themselves in the most extreme position possible just to get the best “stand-up” live shot was beyond parody.

Michelle Obama is a Lush and Inconsiderate Vacation Wench

If we can stop Michelle Obama from spending the tax payers money, there won't be a need to raise the debt ceiling. While Americans are struggling to make ends meet, Michelle Obama drinks top shelf boozes and plan extravagant family vacations. It was bad enough when the Obama's took 2 different plane to go on vacation, but spending $10 million on vacations in one year is another thing. It's pathetic and reprehensible to abuse the power as the first lady. Michelle Obama is living her dream to be the 21st Marie Antoinette.

(Daily Mail) The Obamas' summer break on Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets.

But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.

White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

Branding her 'disgusting' and 'a vacation junkie', they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

The 'top source' told the National Enquirer: 'It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.

'When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10million in taxpayers' money on her vacations.'

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.

And the first family's nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

The source continued: 'Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines.

'The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans.'

While the President and his wife do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the website whitehousedossier.com says that the amount paid by the couple is 'dwarfed by the overall cost to the public'.

The magazine also reported that Mrs Obama, whose fashion choices are widely followed, had been going on 'wild shopping sprees', much to the distress of her husband, who, its sources reveal, is 'absolutely furious' at his wife's 'out-of-control spending'.

The President has already come under fire this week over his decision to take a family vacation while millions of Americans are out of work and countless more are financially strapped.

Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval at 38%

Obama is slipping into "Bush" territory. At 38% approval rating, Americans should honestly asked themselves if this country better off now or during when Bush was president. I think Bush approval rating hovered around 30%. In reality, Obama approval number should be in the low 20%, but the MSM wouldn't allow that to happen.

$500,000 Federal Stimulus Grant Created 2 Jobs

This is a perfect example how Obama's stimulus does not work. The tax payer money is waste on other stuff other than what it is intended. This is not the only example. The total stimulus package showed a net loss of jobs, but this will not stop Obama from spending more money to create jobs.

(Fox News) A federal stimulus grant of nearly $500,000 to grow trees and stimulate the economy in Nevada yielded a whopping 1.72 jobs, according to government statistics.

In 2009, the U.S. Forest Service awarded $490,000 of stimulus money to Nevada's Clark County Urban Forestry Revitalization Project, aimed at revitalizing urban neighborhoods in the county with trees, plants, and green-industry training.

According to Recovery.gov, the U.S. government's official website related to Recovery Act spending, the project created 1.72 permanent jobs. In addition, the Nevada state Division of Forestry reported the federal grant generated one full-time temporary job and 11 short-term project-oriented jobs.

It also resulted in the planting of hundreds of trees -- which critics say is about the only good thing that came out of this stimulus project.

"Looking at the failure of the stimulus to live up to its promises, not just in Nevada, but throughout America, I think the question becomes ‘is there any good use of stimulus money?'" said Douglas Kellogg, communications manager for National Taxpayers Union, in an email to FoxNews.com.

Social Security Goes Bankrupt in 6 years and Not 20 years.

Within the Social Security entitlement program, the section related to the disability program is pushing the entire Social Security entitlement program to the brink of bankruptcy. Social Security will go broke in a mere 6 year, and not in 20 years that many economist are predicting. Thus, Social Security will become a huge issue. Since politicians are so afraid to touch it because they fear of a backlash, the American people better get serious that Social Security could disappear tomorrow. Like all Ponzi schemes, there is a certain threshold before everything fall apart. America has reached that threshold.

(Yahoo) WASHINGTON (AP) — Laid-off workers and aging baby boomers are flooding Social Security's disability program with benefit claims, pushing the financially strapped system toward the brink of insolvency.

Applications are up nearly 50 percent over a decade ago as people with disabilities lose their jobs and can't find new ones in an economy that has shed nearly 7 million jobs.

The stampede for benefits is adding to a growing backlog of applicants — many wait two years or more before their cases are resolved — and worsening the financial problems of a program that's been running in the red for years.

New congressional estimates say the trust fund that supports Social Security disability will run out of money by 2017, leaving the program unable to pay full benefits, unless Congress acts. About two decades later, Social Security's much larger retirement fund is projected to run dry as well.

Claims for disability benefits typically increase in a bad economy because many disabled people get laid off and can't find a new job. This year, about 3.3 million people are expected to apply for federal disability benefits. That's 700,000 more than in 2008 and 1 million more than a decade ago.

The disability program is also being hit by an aging population — disability rates rise as people get older — as well as a system that encourages people to apply for more generous disability benefits rather than waiting until they qualify for retirement.

Retirees can get full Social Security benefits at age 66, a threshold gradually rising to 67. Early retirees can get reduced benefits at 62. However, if you qualify for disability, you can get full benefits, based on your work history, even before 62.

Today, about 13.6 million people receive disability benefits through Social Security or Supplemental Security Income. Social Security is for people with substantial work histories, and monthly disability payments average $927. Supplemental Security Income does not require a work history but it has strict limits on income and assets. Monthly SSI payments average $500.

DNC Fundraising Dropped Sharply in July, No Kidding

There is too much attention to the fundraising effort. Unlike other elections, the mood in America is ugly. Obama's policies are creating a havoc to the economy. In fact, the Democrats can raise ten-times the contributions over the Republican, but the message is set in stone. It is the economy and jobs that will be the major issue this election season. Obama had 3 years to stop the bleeding. Instead, he opened the wound bigger. Just looking the polls, Obama has a very low approval rating, his job performance is weak, and the direction America is heading is negative. Thus, one can assume the contributors to the Democrat party are lobbyists, unions, and big corporations. The contributors aren't middle America struggling to keep things afloat.

(The Blaze) The Democratic National Committee says it raised $6.7 million in July, down from $12.2 million in June and $10.5 million in May.

While still ahead of Republicans it was the DNC’s lowest monthly amount since President Barack Obama launched his re-election campaign in April, a month where the committee raked in $14 million in contributions. Obama cancelled some fundraisers during the month because of negotiations with congressional Republicans over the debt ceiling.

Obama’s campaign and the DNC raised $86 million during the spring fundraising quarter ending in late June, giving it a substantial lead on the Republican presidential field. The party paid down about $600,000 in debt, but Democrats still owe about $11.2 million to creditors. The DNC currently has $20.1 million in the bank.

The Republican National Committee has reported to have raised $6.1 million in July and has $7.6 million in the bank, about $300,000 more than it had last month. National Journal reports that that figure could have been higher, but the RNC spent big bucks on a four-week advertising campaign to try and protect Republican state senators in Wisconsin who faced recall elections.

Separately, the campaign arm of the House Democrats raised $4 million during the month, while their Republican counterparts raised more than $3.8 million. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ended the month with $8.1 million in the bank and $4 million in debt. The National Republican Congressional Committee wrapped up the month with $11.2 million in cash on hand and $2.7 million in debt.

Obama Stop Deporting Illegals, Hispanics Warn Obama in 2012

Obama gave in to the demands of illegal alien activists and postpone deportation of illegal aliens from the United States. Obama request 300,000 cases to be reviewed for any criminal record, which are grounds for immediate deportation. Obama and his Administration forgets that these illegal aliens came here to America illegally. That is the grounds for deportation. This is the typical Democrat mentality. They want to increase the Democrat base with illegal aliens.

(Breitbart) The Obama administration said Thursday it would postpone the deportation of illegal immigrants without criminal records and allow them to apply for work permits as it reviews over 300,000 cases.

The case review would only affect those undocumented immigrants already in line for deportation proceedings, and not the vast majority of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States.

The move comes amid criticism from rights activists of President Barack Obama's administration for deporting a record number of illegal immigrants and failing to get Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

In fiscal year 2010, which ended September 30, the United States deported a record 392,000 illegal immigrants. More than half of those individuals had prior convictions.

Immigrant rights activists protested in several cities across the country this week against Obama's policies on deportation, warning they could cost him votes from the Hispanic community when he runs for reelection in 2012.

Obama Policies Causing Drug Shortage

The drug manufacturer, physicians, and pharmacists are frustrated by the drug shortage seen throughout America. As stated in the article, the problem is caused by the quality control by the manufacturer to produce the medication. Strict quality control can be referred to over-regulation by federal agencies. Americans must understand that over-regulations and Obamacare will hamper one's quality of life. Drug shortage (over-regulations) and death panels are tools to kill off the weak. Thus, when the government say an operation is not necessary and take a pill, guess what? Sorry.

(Boston.com) Ellen McCarthy was scheduled to receive her monthly dose of an ovarian cancer drug at Massachusetts General Hospital last month when she got distressing news: The hospital had run out.

There was a nationwide shortage of the drug, Doxil, but her medical team scrambled and after a few days of uncertainty located an extra vial at a clinic in suburban New York. The 60-year-old retiree drove with her husband and dog to Mount Kisco, N.Y., received the intravenous treatment, then headed back home to Martha’s Vineyard - a 10-hour round trip.

Drug shortages have been on the rise in recent years, affecting everything from antibiotics to anesthesia drugs, for reasons that range from manufacturing problems to companies discontinuing a medication. But shortages are particularly harrowing with cancer drugs, when time is of the essence and substitutes aren’t always available.

More than a dozen cancer drugs are now in short supply, according to the US Food and Drug Administration, creating a situation that doctors at local hospitals say is unprecedented, and worsening. A drug used to treat testicular cancer is scarce; earlier this year, a leukemia drug was affected. And some of the drugs used to treat pediatric cancers, many of which are curable, are in short supply.

According to the FDA, there were 178 drug shortages in 2010, three-quarters of which were sterile injectables, which include chemotherapy infusions. Already this year, there have been 180 drug shortages.

Jouhayna Saliba, senior regulatory program manager at the FDA’s Drug Shortage Program , said that about half of the shortages last year were spurred by manufacturing quality problems. Generally, she said, a small number of firms make oncology drugs, so if one company has an issue it can be difficult for another manufacturer to step in and meet the demand.

American Satisfaction With National Conditions Dips to 11 Percent

The Economy and jobs are top "most important problem" list that concerns every American. In 2008, the Democrats took Majority in both chambers of Congress. The credit goes to Pelosi and Reid to bring the economy to its knees. Obama was the icing on the cake.

(Gallup) PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' satisfaction with the way things are going in the United States has fallen back to 11%, the lowest level since December 2008 and just four percentage points above the all-time low recorded in October 2008.

The Aug. 11-14 Gallup poll finds satisfaction down five points from July (16%) and nine points since June (20%). The dip is likely a response to the recent negotiations to raise the federal debt ceiling and continued concern about the national economy amid a volatile stock market. The recent downing of a U.S. military helicopter in Afghanistan resulting in the deaths of 30 U.S. servicemen could also be contributing to Americans' glum mood.

Gallup began measuring Americans' satisfaction with national conditions in 1979. Since then, satisfaction has been lower than the current 11% in only a few measurements in the final months of 2008. The all-time low of 7% came in an Oct. 10-12, 2008, poll, conducted shortly after stock values plummeted following Democrat Majority Congress' passage of the TARP legislation in response to the September 2008 financial crisis.

Appeals court rules against Obama healthcare mandate

No kidding! Duh!

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law suffered a setback on Friday when an appeals court ruled that it was unconstitutional to require all Americans to buy insurance or face a penalty.

The U.S. Appeals Court for the 11th Circuit, based in Atlanta, ruled 2 to 1 that Congress exceeded its authority by requiring Americans to buy coverage, but it unanimously reversed a lower court decision that threw out the entire law.

The legality of the individual mandate, a cornerstone of the healthcare law, is widely expected to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. Opponents have argued that without the mandate, which goes into effect in 2014, the entire law falls.

The law, adopted by Congress in 2010 after a bruising battle, is expected to be a major political issue in the 2012 elections as Obama seeks another term. All the major Republican presidential candidates have opposed it.

Obama has championed the individual mandate as a major accomplishment of his presidency and as a way to try to slow the soaring costs of healthcare while expanding coverage to the more than 30 million Americans without it.

The White House voiced confidence the law would be upheld. "We strongly disagree with this decision and we are confident it will not stand," Obama aide Stephanie Cutter said in a statement.

Because it conflicts with another appeals court ruling that upheld the law, the Supreme Court is expected to take it up during its term that begins in October with a ruling possible just months before the November 2012 presidential election.

Legal experts said it was impossible to predict how the high court will rule but agreed that it may be a close vote by nine ideologically divided justices, with moderate conservative Justice Anthony Kennedy as the possible swing vote.

Job Approval Rating, Obama is in Bush Territory

Please tell me again how Bush was worst than Obama. The current president is now in Bush territory. It's not easy to have no real experience running a country. At least for Bush, the hated was politically motivated by the media. With Obama, it is pure stupidity and arrogance.

(LA Times) President Obama's summer woes have dragged his approval rating to an all-time low, sinking below 40% for the first time in Gallup's daily tracking poll.

New data posted Sunday shows that 39% of Americans approve of Obama's job performance, while 54% disapprove. Both are the worst numbers of his presidency.

Obama's approval rating has hovered in the 40% range for much of 2011, peaking at 53% in the weeks following the death of Osama bin Laden.

But Americans' view of his job performance continued to tick downward as the debt-ceiling debate heated up. By the time he signed legislation averting a federal default, he was mired in the low-40% range.

The Winner of the Iowa GOP Straw Poll...Sarah Palin

It doesn't matter what people say about Sarah Palin. The former governor of Alaska still has star power, and reporters are craving for her attention. Palin is in the drivers seat. She is able to command the spotlight without asking for it. While Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul took top honors at the straw poll, it fails in comparison to the attention Sarah Palin got when she attended the Iowa Fair prior to the GOP debates. Heck, Sarah Palin can declare her candidacy a week before the 2012 election and take all the stream from the GOP candidates, and also, Obama's re-election bid.

(The Hill) DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin hasn't announced her 2012 plans, but she stole the show at the Iowa State Fair on Friday.

Palin and her husband, Todd, had a private lunch with supporters — including longtime Iowa fundraiser Becky Beach — on the fairgrounds, then walked over to admire the life-size "butter cow" sculpture, stopping along the way to take photos with fair-goers. While many presidential candidates had already appeared on the fairgrounds Friday, she was the only one who drew such a thick throng of onlookers and supporters, along with a clutch of media coverage.

Palin, who stopped by the fair as part of her One America bus tour, denied that there were any political reasons for her coming to the state the day between a GOP presidential debate and the Iowa Republican Straw Poll.

Her decision to visit the fair came recently, and there was criticism that she was trying to overshadow the straw poll, leaving Palin promising not to attend the Saturday event.

She told reporters earlier in the day that she hadn't made up her mind about a presidential run.

"I think there is plenty of time to jump in the race," she said, according to reports. "Watching the whole process over the last year certainly shows me that, yes, there is plenty of room for more people."

Despite the public event, Palin didn't make it easy for reporters to find her. Her staff didn't release a schedule or announce her stops, leaving fans and the media to track her movements via word of mouth and Twitter.

Her visit came while other presidential contenders were addressing voters at the Des Moines Register's soapbox, a traditional stopping place for candidates, and looking for support in Saturday's straw poll.

Consumer Confidence Crashes, Lowest Since Jimmy Carter

Base on consumer confidence survey, today's generation is witnessing the worst economic time as comparable as former President Jimmy Carter years in the White House. As expected, a president with no executive experience can not run a country. The game is over. American fulfilled a dream and put a black man in office. Now, let's get serious and put a person with executive experience in the White House.

(Reuters) - U.S. consumer sentiment worsened sharply in early August, falling to the lowest level in more than three decades, after retail sales posted the biggest gain in four months in July.

High unemployment, stagnant wages, gridlock in Congress, and a stockmarket slump all contributed to a consumer mood that was as grim as when Jimmy Carter was President during the recession of 1980 and interest rates were more than 20 percent.

Despite the gloom U.S. consumers kept spending in recent weeks with retail sales up in July by the most in four months.

"People's spending doesn't always correspond with their mood," said Stephen Stanley, chief economist at Pierpont Securities in Stamford, Connecticut. "I doubt things are as weak as the sentiment readings suggest, but no doubt people will be cautious in August."

The preliminary August reading on the consumer sentiment index fell to 54.9 in early August, down from 63.7 in July, and the index has fallen for three straight months in the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan survey.

Unemployment at 9.1 percent of the workforce, low wage rises, and the protracted debate in Congress over raising the U.S. government debt ceiling spooked consumers, survey director Richard Curtin said in a statement.

Bad economic times were expected by 75 percent of all consumers in early August, just below the all-time peak of 82 percent in 1980. Buying plans for household durables and vehicles declined in early August, falling back to their recession level lows.

OBAMAGEDDON!! BARACKALYPSE NOW!!!

Rush Limbaugh wrote the narrative for the 2012 presidential election. Rush said that the credit rating of America will be the central theme to take down Obama. The president already knows the plan. Obama is going after the Standard and Poor and Moody for downgrading our credit rating. In fact, a congressional or a senatorial hearing is being planned for both agency to explain themselves. Unlike the Obama Administration, these agencies do not work for Washington and will not bend to scrupulous accounting practices. Obama is in utter denial as he continues to say, "No matter what some agency may say, we have always been and always will be a triple-A country." When the country is spending more than what it takes in, a red flag should be displayed for all the world to see.

Important: Do You Support Pres. Obama's Re-Election? Vote Here Now!

(Newsmax) Top-rated talk radio host Rush Limbaugh finds a “silver lining” in the downgrading of America’s credit rating: There no longer is any doubt that President Barack Obama can be roundly defeated in 2012.

“Obamageddon. Barackalypse Now. The only silver lining I can find is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama's a Debt Man Walking. Anybody want to tell me he's not landslidable now?

“Let me repeat this as the Media Tweak of the Day: ‘What we have witnessed since Friday is Obamageddon, Barackalypse Now. And the only silver lining out there is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama's now Debt Man Walking."

Rush also charged that Democrats are trying to play the blame game against Republicans over the financial crisis.

“Obama is always running around complaining and whining and moaning about all that he inherited from George W. Bush,” Rush said.

“Well, he inherited a AAA credit rating, an unemployment rate of 5.7 percent.

Limbaugh's comments came the Monday after Standard & Poor's downgraded the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA-plus , and the Dow tanked 634 points. Obama blamed the downgrade on political gridlock in Washington and said he would offer some recommendations on how to reduce federal deficits.

Obama stopped short of sharp criticism of Standard & Poor's for its downgrade of U.S. debt to AA-plus from AAA on Friday. Senior administration officials have accused S&P of going ahead with the downgrade despite a $2 trillion mathematical error.

"Markets will rise and fall, but this is the United States of America. No matter what some agency may say, we have always been and always will be a triple-A country," Obama said.

As Obama spoke, stock markets were registering another steep decline, dropping more than 450 points in afternoon trading.

A joint bipartisan congressional committee, to be formed under the legislation passed last week that averted a government default, is to report its recommendations in late November on how to cut $1.5 trillion in spending over a decade.

Obama said he would offer his own recommendations for fixing the problem and cited again the need to raise taxes on wealthier Americans and make modest adjustments to popular but expensive entitlement programs.

Limbaugh took the president's comments about the S&P, and threw them right back.

“What are the Democrats doing? Blaming the referees! Blaming Standard & Poor's! That always changes the outcome, doesn't it? Blame the refs.

“So go ahead and blame Standard & Poor's all you want, Democrats. Now they're blaming the military! Barney Frank and the Democrats are trying to say it's the military's fault that we've been downgraded.

“This is the fault of the Democrat Party," Limbaugh said, exasperated.

Limbaugh went on to say: “So now we know what Obama got for his birthday: A downgrade of our credit rating, probably exactly what he wanted in his heart of hearts . . .

“World War II, we had a AAA credit rating, and we lose it now, and for what? For what great purpose did we lose it? Except an ideological hatred of American capitalism and a love of class warfare, what did we lose our AAA rating for?

“Think about it: Obama's finally managed another major accomplishment on that list he told us he had, that list that he said he'd only done about 70 percent so far. At long last, Obama and his fellow Democrats have finally been able to convince the world that we are just another country, after all. There's nothing exceptional about us or our economy.

“For crying out loud, France has a higher credit rating than we do. France! They produce cheese and perfume, for crying out loud!”

Gas Prices Up Despite Use of Oil Reserves

When Obama release the oil from the oil reserves, the drop in the price of gas was miniscule. After a month, price of gas rebounded a dime higher Obama was anticipating. Currently, the price of gas is starting to drop, but through an unwelcome reason. The economic collapse and high unemployment is driving the demand of gas down. Although it was another alternative to lower the price of gas, it was not the choice Americans imagined. Instead, if Obama followed Bush and declared oil independence, we should see a dramatic slide in the price of gas. As evidence, the price of oil dropped more than $9 a barrel when Bush announce on July 14, 2008 an end to the presidential moratorium on drilling. Within two weeks, the price was down by $22. However, this is not Obama's style. The president likes to do things the hard way.

(Washington Times) More than a month after the Obama administration said it would tap the country’s emergency oil reserve to try to combat supply disruptions in the Middle East, gas prices at the pump actually have risen 10 cents.

President Obama had hoped the move, coming at the onset of the summer driving season, would temper the loss of supplies due to the ongoing civil war in Libya. Working with international allies, the U.S. said on June 23 that it would release 30 million barrels of oil over 30 days, while other countries with strategic reserves agreed to release another 30 million, in staggered sales during July.

And prices at the pump did dip, at first, from a nationwide average of $3.61 down to $3.55, according to AAA. But by last week, they had rebounded and the price per gallon stood a dime higher than when the administration first made its decision.

“Although it helped initially to pull down prices it was probably too little,” AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesman John Townsend said, pointing out that the nation consumes as much as 20 million barrels of oil a day. “This is just a drop in the bucket.”

If Not For Tea Party Movement, US Would Be Rated BBB

The godfather of the Tea Party Movement is CNBC Financial Editor Rick Santelli. The Tea Party Movement consist of Republicans, Democrats (smart ones), and Independents working together to create the narrative in American politics. Its orginal purpose was to pursue Rick Santelli mantra to stop wasteful government spending. Under Obama, the out-of-control spending is ruining America. It has gone over the cliff when Moody downgraded our credit rating. Hence, the Tea Party keeps Washington in check. Liberals and the GOP Establishment are unable to contain the The Tea Party Movement. The movement has spead to all corners of America. I won't be surprise our next president will come from the Tea Party Movement.

(RealClearPolitics) "You know what leadership means? It means that it doesn't really matter what S&P says. We all know deep inside that no country is the same as it was 5 years ago. And the market seems to be okay with it. And as for stocks going down we were already Ralph Cramden (of Honeymooners) on thin ice. Now an infant jumped on our shoulders. It’s just even more weight.

"In the end, in the end we need to address problems we know exist. A Treasury Secretary or a President should be out here not fighting S&P, not grabbing the other coach and slapping him around, taking the umpire behind the barn. He should be getting the team psyched to overcome.

"See I remember I had a professor in college. I wrote a great paper. Could never please this guy. But it made me better. Okay? We’re better than this. Don’t get caught up in the minutia. All this BS. We’re better than this. We need to prove it. We’re off the track. Whether we're better than some other country or not, the real issue is we're on the wrong path.

"Blame the Tea Party? Geez, no wonder Kerry did so well in an election. If it wasn't for the Tea Party, they would have passed the debt ceiling thumbs up, we would have been rated BBB."

Stock Market Tanked While Obama Tried to Reassure America

No matter Obama says, the stock market ignored to the empty promise and false hope. The stock market tumbled more than 600 points while the president tried to reassure investors and the rest of America. Like taking care of one's personal finances, if one spends more than one takes in, it is common sense to stop spending. Obama does not get it. Democrats are oblivious. Standard & Poor did the right thing and downgraded our credit rating. It is time for America to wake up.

(Reuters) - What should a U.S. president say to stop stock markets from falling and reassure Americans that the country will be able to solve its debt and deficit problems?

President Barack Obama's first public comment about Standard & Poor's downgrade of U.S. debt to AA-plus from the top-notch AAA was not enough to stop a market plunge of 600 points, with investors uncertain if Washington can overcome political gridlock.

Here is a look at what Obama tried to achieve:

* Reassurance. Obama wanted to underscore to Americans that the United States remains the economic envy of the world despite the credit downgrade and will work its way through its fiscal problems.

"Markets will rise and fall, but this is the United States of America. No matter what some agency may say, we've always been and always will be AAA country," he said.

* Persuasion. Obama sought to use the S&P downgrade to his advantage in a long-running dispute with congressional Republicans over how best to stem Washington's red ink.

Republicans want only spending cuts, a position Obama's Democrats believe is unreasonable given the pressing need to maintain spending for the social safety net.

While a joint bipartisan congressional committee will chart a way forward on reducing deficits by late November, Obama made clear where he stands: he wants to increase taxes on wealthier Americans and an end to some corporate tax loopholes to ease the pain of spending cuts.

* Influence. Obama said he would lay out a specific vision for deficit reduction to help the congressional committee.

That was considered the big news from his remarks because, technically, the recent deal on deficit reduction puts the next phase in the process in the hands of lawmakers in Congress.

Obama took some heat from Republicans during the debt debate for not delivering a plan on paper that outlined his deficit reduction ideas.

This decision may be in reaction to the criticism -- and a signal that he intends to stay in the throes of the debate even as the "super committee" and the rest of Congress takes up the baton.

Moody Downgrades USA Credit Rating and DOW Skids 600

This is the reality check America needed to see. The MSM, Obama's economist, and the White House are unable to sugar coat the news from Wall Street. America is experiencing the worst economic collapse since Jimmy Carter. Hopefully, this generation, who was not born to experience Carter's stupidity, could appreciate it now.

Many Americans can relate with bad credit. Also, it is often understood that having a bad credit rating means the bank is less likely to service a loan. Obama is the first president in history to allow our valued credit rating to be downgraded. Therefore, before bashing Bush and his spending, it is important to note that Obama destroyed the economy in 3 short years as president.

(CNBC) Stocks took a sharp nosedive in another choppy day Monday to finish at session lows as investors fled from risky assets following S&P's downgrade of U.S.'s credit rating last week in addition to ongoing economic jitters.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 634.76 points, or 5.55 percent, to finish at 10,809.85, well below the psychologically-significant 11,000 mark. The move marks the blue-chip index's biggest point and percent drop since Dec. 1, 2008.

Moody's said while they are maintaining the U.S.'s AAA status, the agency said it has doubts over the long-term enforceability of the budget cuts already decided by Congress.

This comes after Standard & Poor's move to downgrade U.S.'s rating to AA-plus from AAA last Friday after a wild week for stocks—its worst in more than two years.

And in its latest move, S&P also lowered Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Federal Home Loan Bank's debt to AA-plus from AAA.
